Part 3: What to do when your best friend wants to kill you.

Note: Words enclosed in <> are author's notes. By the way, I had a hard time imagining what kind of place Synder lived in so I don't have a graphic visual of Synder's house.

7:45am

Saturday morning

Synder's house.

Snyder woke up at his usual time. He was glad that school was over for the week. He showered, dressed, and went to get his morning paper. When he turned around, ready to go back in the house, Synder got the shock of his life. Nailed to his door was a cat, which looked like it had been through hell. He dropped his paper and stared at the dead animal for a moment. Reaching into his pocket, he took out a cell phone and immeadietly dialed the pound. He quickly explained his situation and the man on the end of the line said that he'd send someone over to retrieve the cat. Unknown to Synder, Buffy was watching him from her post in the house across the street. She laughed quietly. *That little worm deserved it,* she thought. Turning around, she stared at the house's previous owners. She then looked for the car keys, which had been on a hook in the kitchen. Buffy grabbed them and high tailed it out of the house. Getting into the car, she gunned the engine and proceded to drive towards the mansion.

Meanwhile at the library, the gang had met for one of their Saturday sessions. "The Council sent me some books yesterday. They said that they should be helpful in finding the solution to our problem," Giles said to the four teens. "One of them must contain something."

The group looked at the pile of books on the table and sighed. It was going to be a long day. About half an hour later Cordelia shouted, "I found it!"

Everyone turned to look at her. Cordelia continued, "It says here that if a slayer has been turned into a vampire you need a drop of blood given willingly from a slayer. Then you mix it with the blood of those that want to give her her soul back and you perfom the original ritual for restoring a vampire's soul except you pour the blood over the orb of Thessula."

What Cordelia failed to notice was the fine print at the bottom of the page that read, 'The blood must also be given willingly by the slayer whom was brought over.'

"That was excellent research Cordelia," said Giles. "I'll notify the Council and see if I can get the location of the new slayer."

Back at the mansion, where Buffy was working on preparations for her party, she suddenly got a vision. "Spike?" Buffy called out.

"Yes pet?" Spike glanced up from the guest list he ws reading.

"They're trying to restore my soul. They think that they need the blood of another slayer. Poor Cordy, she forgot to read the fine print," Buffy giggled. "They want to ruin my party. It's time for us to get out final ally."

"Who's that pet?"

"Drusilla," Buffy replied as an evil grin spread across her features.

"Dru?" Spike and Angel asked at the same time.

"Dru. We're gonna need her. She's just what we need to hatch my little plan. They perfom the ritual, it wont work, we pretend it works, Dru and Angel go to the library in a fit, I pretend to protect them, then when they're least expecting, BOOM! We have them in a trap."

"I love the way your mind works Buffy," Angel said in hopes of getting her to leave Spike in the dust.

"I'm sure you do. My party's in 11/2 weeks. Make sure that everyone's there.i'm gonna have a special treat."

As an afterthought Buffy added, "Spike, can I borrow your Visa? I'm gonna need a new dress for the party, not to mention shoes, among other things. Then tomorrow we look for things for you to wear,'K?"

"Sure pet."

Fast forward to Monday.

"Hey Will, did you see Synder this morning?" Xander asked his best friend.

"Yeah, he looked worse than usual," replied Will.

"Don't forget jumpy," added Oz as he walked up to them. "I bumped into him and he let out a small yelp…well, I think it was a yelp."

"Uh-oh," Willow said realizing something. "I think I know why he's acting jumpy."

"Why?" asked Oz.

"Think. Who did Buffy hate before she became a a grrr?"

"You mean Buffy's trying to kill him?" asked Xander. "Maybe she found out he was a demon. I mean, what are the odds that he's actually human?"

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're right. And even though he's a bastard and all he doesn't deserve to die, but I have no sympathy for him whatsoever," Willow replied. "As much as we hate him, you've got to agree that he's an asshole to put it in plain words."

"And you actually kiss your mom and Wolfboy with that foul mouth?"

Willow looked sad as soon as Xander had said that. "Buffy said something like that to me when you blew up at her for wanting to give return Angel's soul."

"I'm sorry Will, I didn't mean to make you sad."

"Its okay, you didn't know. Oh, and Giles found out something else about the ritual. It has to be perfomed on the full moon, which is less than two weeks away."

"Too bad wolfboy can't come."

The week passed by quickly. Buffy had managed to locate Dru and convince her to join their party, half of Sunnydale High thought Synder was crazy, the Scooby Gang had gotten almost all of the supplies they needed, the new slayer had come to town, and the Fang Gang had added almost a hundred new vamps to their gang. Needless to say, not many people stayed out after dark anymore. These mass murders had captured the attentions of the adults of Sunnydale. The police chief was thinking of calling in the FBI. It was a miracle that people hadn't moved out of Sunnydale yet.
