Part 5: How to Party Demon Style <my sister inspired some parts of this chapter of which I am semi-grateful>

"Did you see Synder this morning?" Cordelia asked Willow and Xander when she caught up to them.

"Nope. Why?" asked Xander his brow wrinkling in confusion.

"Harmony, she had to go to his office for something, and she says that Synder's office looks like a carnival booth or something. Then, she said that Synder kept saying something about how the world was going to end on July 25th. It's official guys. Synder has gone completely crazy."

Xander and Willow looked at each other in amazement. Realization lit Willow's face. "Oooh!" Willow said. "Why didn't we see this before? Buffy probably drove Synder crazy or Angel did. It was staring us right in the face and we didn't even realize it!"

"Realize what, Will?" came another voice.

Xander, Will, and Cordelia turned to find Buffy smiling sweetly at the. "I can't believe it took you this long to figure it out. Can you say 'moron much?' I still find it hard to believe that Angel drove him crazy. But nothing will compare to what's in store tonight. And I assume you found that little invitation?"

At this they nodded. Buffy smiled coldly before continuing, "Anyway, don't even think about trying to stop it. There's only five of you and over 200 of us. Oh yeah, I really see you winning this battle. See this is a test. Pass it, we move onto level 2. When we reach level 10, you die."

"What kind of test?" asked Cordelia, unable to contain her curiosity.

Buffy shook her head in mock sadness. "And to think that once upon a time I used to be exactly like you. Do you really think that I'm going to tell you? 'Cause if you did, you'd be a bigger moron than I thought."

"What do you want from us Buff?" Xander asked semi-nervously.

"I want to see you suffer," she answered, an evil grin spreading across her features. "It's nothing personal. What the hell, it is personal. See ya, definetly don't want to be ya."

With that said Buffy headed towards the library where Megan was busy training with Giles. "G-man, long time no see. Didja miss me?" Buffy asked grinning. She then proceeded to sit upon the countertop. "The strangest thing happened. I was redecorating when I got an urge to visit some of my," she paused for a brief second, "'friends'." Then she turned her attention to Megan. "You must be the new slayer. Megan. I saw you coming. I'm sorry about your parents. Actually, I'm not. You know what's really a drag? I'm probably the only slayer ever to have an actual fashion sense."

"There's nothing wrong with the way I dress," Megan said defensively.

"Yeah, except for the fact it's so yesterday. Keep dreaming doll. Won't matter anyhow. Pretty soon you'll be dead."

"Who are you?"

Buffy turned to look at Giles. "Shame on you, 'Ripper'. Not telling her who I am, what I am. Here's a tip doll: I'm going to be the one that kills you."

After school that day, the gang met in the library. They all knew about Buffy's surprise visit. "So, what do we do about it?" asked Oz.

Giles looked at them sadly. "There's nothing else we can do but kill her."

"Uh, Giles? Forgetting something? How are we going to go up against Buffy, who's also the strongest slayer in history? I so see her just saying, 'Sure. I'll behead myself," Xander said sarcastically.

"Xander, can you just try be optimistic for once?" asked Willow.

"I'll be optimistic when we find a way to get Buffy back," replied Xander.

"That's it! Why didn't I think of this before?" Giles said suddenly.

All eyes turned to him. "Well, you can turn a vampire back to being a human if they are at least a week old and haven't taken that many lives."

"Have you been reading the paper lately Giles? She has taken that many lives and she's over a week old. I totally see that plan working," Cordelia pointed out.

And yet again their hopes went down. In the end, they could only do one thing. Kill Buffy.

Buffy had arrived back at the mansion a few hours before sundown. Before she could retreat to her chambers, Buffy ran into Angel. Needless to say, she was a bit annoyed. "What now Angel, gonna give me the 3rd degree on where I was?"

Angel threw her a look. "Sorry to disappoint babe, but I wasn't planning on doing that. You see, I realized something---"

Buffy cut in. "It's okay. I already know that your shoe size is bigger than your I.Q."

At this Buffy got a cold glare. "As I was saying I realized something, I never found out how you and Spike got together."

Buffy's curiosity was aroused. "You want to know how me and Spike got together? Does Elvis talk to you? Does he tell you to do stuff? Have you gone over the deep end?"

"Funny. I'm curious. It's my one flaw."

"Curiosity?"

Angel shrugged. "How do you think I became a vampire. Okay, so I'm not really curious, but what does he have that I don't?"

"A brain. Actually, he's more fun."

"Fun?" Angel asked, disbelief coloring his features.

"Yeah. He's witty, sarcastic, and realistic. Is that all or can I go sleep now?"

"I'm witty," protested Angel.

"Sure you are, but take away 80yrs from your life when you were angsty, boring, and one major brooder. He was always witty. And we've had something in common even before I was brought over. We are both witty. Difference is, I used my wit to stay alive, he used his to kill and maim."

Buffy turned and walked towards her chambers, deliberately swinging her hips.

Saturday night. The ballroom was filled with demons of all shapes and sizes. Even some members of the Order of Tauraka were there. Some were mingling, some were dancing. Then at exactly midnight, Buffy called everyone's attention to herself. "Okay peeps. It's midnight, and time for some heavy fun. Contestants in game number one please form a straight line." Five demons made a straight line. "For game 1 we have a cat and mouse game." Buffy then motioned to another vampire. The vamp disappeared for a minute before bringing out a struggling Synder. "The first demon to catch him and bring him back before 30mins have passed get to kill him. -Turning to the vamp holding Synder- Release him. -Turning back to the demons- On your mark, get set, go!"

The demons took chase after Synder. After one of them, Phoenix, managed to catch him, he brought Synder back just as the half-hour was up. After Buffy proclaimed him winner, Phoenix proceeded to dismember Synder. For the second game, Buffy handed out a picture of her mom. The contestants had to knock her out and bring her there in less than an hour. This time, there was a surprise prize. Bach brought Joyce in first; therefore he received the mystery prize…which turned out to be Melody, one of Cordelia's friends. For the last game, the contestants had to go to the mall and find the trendiest outfit completed with shoes. The winner would get a trophy announcing him 'coolest demon'. The winner for that game turned out to be Eric, the head of the Order. Around 9am, when the party ended, Buffy retreated to her chambers where she had had her mother put. By then Joyce was up, and was tied to a chair. When she saw Buffy she hurriedly asked, "Buffy, what are you doing here?"

"I'm visiting a friend. How about you?"

"Your friend captured me."

Buffy looked at her with a thoughtful expression. "No he didn't. I did."

"What! Why?" Joyce asked.

"Easy mom. I need you to rely a message. Tell Giles and the gang that they successfully passed level 1. Level two will be a lot harder though. Did you get that?"

"Why are you doing this?" Joyce cried.

But before Buffy could answer Spike walked in. "How's everything ducks?" questioned Spike.

Buffy grinned at him before replying. "Peachy. I gave her the message. But I just have to insure one more thing."

Spike put a smile on his face, as he knew what Buffy was about to do. Turning back to her mother, Buffy grabbed her hand and twisted it until she heard the bone breaking. Joyce screamed in pain. Buffy smiled viciously before whispering to her mother, "Don't forget the message, or next time, I won't be breaking your arm."

Tears were running down Joyce's face as she asked, "Why?"

"Because you are weak, and I can prey on your fears."

Then Buffy knocked her out and proceeded to carry her to the gallery. That was the real ending of level 1. Buffy smiled darkly as she thought, * if those morons think this was bad, they should wait for level 2.*
