Part 6: 10 Good reasons why you should never piss off a vamp

Joyce woke up with a start. The pain in her right hand and the fact that she was in her gallery proved to her what had happened wasn't a dream, or rather, nightmare. Proceeding to the hospital, she concluded a false story about what happened to her hand. She was told to come back in two days to get the actual cast put on. Then she headed towards the library. "Mr. Giles?" she called out. "It's Ms. Summers."

Giles came out from one of the stacks. "Um, hello. Please call me Giles. My god, what happened to your arm?" he asked referring to the bandaged arm. "Buffy," she responded before breaking down into tears. The gang chose that exact moment to enter the library. "Hey Ms. S," Willow and Xander greeted cheerfully. Giles motioned for them to be quiet. "She told me to rely some kind of message to you. Something about you passing level 1 successfully. She said level 2 would be harder and that was a few minutes before she broke my arm. Why is she acting like this?"

"Simple mom. I'm a vamp. I tend to do bad stuff," came Buffy's voice from the stacks. She started talking as she proceeded down the steps. "You see, I'm a demon. If I wasn't, I wouldn't have had you captured and brought to me. Actually, I wasn't expecting you to be here. I just wanted to tell them about level 2. See in level 2, the stakes are upped. Remind me to thank Spike for the idea. He so comes up with plans that aren't bogus. Anyway, tonight there's going to be two attacks. Two demons and I don't mean vamps. Your little slayer has to figure out how to stop them without getting help from more than two people. I'll nice and give you an idea of who's going to be attacked. Both are juniors, you know them and they are girls. If I see any more than two people helping you, I leash out about thirty vamps at the Bronze. Remember that two lives are counting on you, perhaps even more. I'll give you one more hint, the girl's initials are S.L. and D.L. Have fun, I know I will."

Buffy smiled at them before calmly walking to the double doors. As she was about to leave, she turned towards them with a thoughtful expression on her face. "Gee guys, you don't look that sad. Aren't you supposed to be mourning Synder's death?"

Then she exited dramatically. Her statement or rather question left shocked looks on their faces. Xander turned to them and said somewhat comfortingly, "At least he wasn't eaten by teenagers.

Sundown. Spike was busy packing. Angel was still sleeping. Dru was playing with her dolls. Buffy was entering Spike's room. "Hey pet. Where are you going?" she asked when she entered.

"I have to go on a small trip ducks. I'll be back within a week."

Buffy's face lit up in anticipation. "Can I come?"

"Not this time love," was the reply she got.

"Why not?" she asked, pouting.

Spike looked at her and sighed-sort of- "It's a surprise ducks. I'm getting you a special gift."

Buffy contemplated the choice of either trying to go or getting a surprise. The surprise won in the end. She shrugged then walked over to Spike and gave him a long passionate kiss. "Just come back in one piece. I don't want to find out that you've spontainiously combusted, 'K?"

"You've got a deal pet. You'll love my surprise. I have to go before I miss my flight."

Buffy reluctantly let go of Spike and gave him one last kiss goodbye. Unknown to both of them, Megan had found out that Spike wasn't going to be in town for a week. After learning this new info, Megan began to think of a plan. *I got it. Spike's out of town and he gives Buffy all these ideas. Maybe if I get vamp dust and make it look like I killed Spike maybe she'll want to join him. I probably should tell Giles but we both know he's doesn't want his precious Buffy dust, * Megan ended her thought. After dusting a vamp, she carefully put his ashes in a small, embroidered box. Taping a note to it, she made sure that the next vamp she ran into would give Buffy the box. She grinned as the Will sped away, eager to leave before the slayer changed her mind and dusted him. Will arrived at the mansion in less than ten minutes. Will found his mistress and gave her the box. Buffy's curiosity was aroused when she saw the box. Then when she saw the note. Wondering what was on it, she began to read it slowly.

Buffy:

I ran into Spike. You know surprise is the best element. He never even heard me coming until it was too late. I decided to give you his 'cremated' body. At least you'll always have one part of him.

Megan.

Buffy no longer felt curiosity; it had turned into burning hatred. And anger. Picking up the first thing she saw, which happened to be a vase, she threw it at the wall. She started throwing every breakable object, taking out her fury on the pieces of furniture. Dru and Angel came to investigate the noise. They were mildly surprised when they saw Buffy throwing a fit. After an hour or so, she calmed down. Her mouth set in a straight line, her game face in place; she marched towards the library looking for Megan. But Megan had gone to the Bronze once she had finished patrolling. Everyone else was there when Buffy came through the doors. "Where is she?" demanded Buffy.

"Who?" asked Oz.

"That slayer bitch. I am going to rip her to shreds!" an angry Buffy said.

"I thought you were doing levels," Xander says, confused.

"I was. I'm going to kill her. No body kills my boyfriend and lives. Like I said where is she? I'll find her if I have to rip this town to pieces. If I have to kill you, I will. She went too far. I couldn't have cared less if she killed a stupid minion but that…that tramp crossed the line. Where is she!?" yelled Buffy.

"Bronze," whispered Cordelia, who was even more afraid of Buffy in this state.

Buffy turned and practically ran towards the Bronze. She knew that she still had her game face but right now she didn't give a rat's ass. When the bouncer asked for money, Buffy simply broke his neck. She really didn't have time for that. Heading in, she scanned the crowd until she found Megan sitting at a table. Buffy willed herself back into her human guise before moving into the crowd. In a minute she wound up behind Megan. Violently, she pushed Megan forward, hearing a loud crack when Megan's head hit the table. Whipping her head around, Megan turned to face Buffy. *Ow. That really hurt. Why are there two of her? She should have committed suicide by now.* Then Megan realized she had been wrong. She should have learned more about Buffy before doing this. Buffy wasn't going to kill herself. She was going to kill her. Somehow Megan managed to block Buffy's next punch. At that exact moment, Buffy's new cell phone rang. She hesitated for a minute then answered. "What?"

"Hey pet."

"Spike?" Buffy asked in belief.

"No, it's Santa Clause," Spike replied sarcastically.

"Are you alright?"

"Fine, I'm New York right now."

"City?"

"Yup."

"Can you do me a favor and stop by the mall? I heard that Tiffany's was having a major sale. Remember that necklace I showed you? Get that one. Please?"

"Sure pet," Spike said chuckling. "Although I don't know how you get have heard that all the way on the West Coast. Call you later love."

"Bye."

Buffy hung up and glared at Megan. * She tried to make me think Spike was dead so that I wouldn't continue with my game. I'll show her. Even though she passed level two, there's no way she's going to make it past level five. I'll make sure of that.*

Buffy turned and walked out one of the side exits, heading home. She sighed. Perhaps Dru would like to go shopping. Who wouldn't?
