Justice

"C'mon, Spike, fight," Buffy taunted, performing a spinning kick to his

head causing him to rebound into the library table.

"Since you got your legs back, you've been a real pain in the ass," he

replied, pounding his fist into her exposed midriff. She laughed sharply

as she doubled over.

"So have you," she responded, grabbing his wrist and twisting. Spike

chuckled as he felt the bones snap. He grabbed her other hand and, using

his vampire strength, twisted Buffy around to face him.

"You have an unquenchable lust for causing me pain," he commented, holding

her to his chest.

"I thought you liked my unquenchable lust," she smirked before pushing him

away from her, but he didn't let her go. They both toppled to the ground.

"Umm, Slayer?" Spike raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah, Willy," she taunted with a half smile

"I like to be on top," he growled, his face vamping out. He rolled her off

him violently; then maneuvered himself on top of her. His lower body pinned

her to the ground. He smiled down at her through a mouth full of fangs. His

eyes softened when he saw the fear trickle through her eyes. He felt his face

going back to human. "I'm sor--" his words were cut off by Buffy's fist as it

connected with his mouth.

He leaped to his feet, followed shortly by Buffy. "I win," she taunted,

smiling sweetly. She checked to be sure she hadn't drawn blood; then grabbed

the front of his shirt and pulled him down to her mouth.

She kissed him with all the pent up passion and anger from their fight, and

finally, after a few seconds of surprise, Spike began to respond and tightened

his arms around her waist.

"God, Buffy, can't you get a room?" Cordelia's voice asked from the doorway.

Buffy and Spike pulled apart quickly, and Buffy couldn't suppress a laugh

at the look of utter shock on Cordy's face. "Spike?" she squeaked before

passing out. Just then Xander, Willow, and Oz rushed into the library.

"I see Cordy got here first," Xander commented with a tight smile.

"You didn't warn her?" Buffy asked.

"Why should I have to tell her about your torrid affairs with the undead?"

Xander replied.

"Because you're the one that has a problem with it, mate," Spike commented,

wrapping his arms around Buffy's waist and kissing the base of her neck.

Just then, Cordy managed to pull herself out of unconsciousness.

"Xander?" she asked as Xander bent down next to her. "I had the strangest

dream," she murmured; then she caught sight of Spike. "Oh, God," she

whispered.

"Not quite," Spike smirked, and Cordy passed out again.

"Has everyone gone *completely* insane?!" she screamed before passing

again.

Willie dropped the bag of trash into the dumpster and was turning to go

back into his bar when he heard the noise coming from the alley behind

him. He turned around and scanned the shadows; seeing nothing, he turned

back around. That was when the insane giggling started.

"W,Who's there?" he stammered as a shadow detached itself from the wall.

Drusilla stepped into the light of the lone street lamp; she was holding

a doll that's head had been taped back together.

"Miss Edith says you've been a bad boy," she stated simply, swaying in

place.

<Spike's freaky chick,> he thought silently; then, out loud, he replied,

"Look, lady, I don't know what you want--"

"I want to play." She swayed more furiously. "My Angel says I get to play."

"Angel huh?" <I've got a bad feeling about this.>

"That's right, Willie-boy," another shadow replied as it joined Drusilla

under the light. Angel smiled gently at Willie. "I still owe you for...well,

you know what for."

"Hey, Angel, man, you know I didn't mean nothin'." Willie's mind searched

frantically for anyway out; he couldn't find one.

"Willie, you're a traitor. I don't have a use for traitors. Well," he

laughed, "Maybe one use." Angel covered the distance quickly between

them and slammed Willie into the wall. He smiled at the fear in Willie's

eyes as Angel pulled something out of his pocket. Willie stared at the

railroad spike in Angel's hand and knew what was coming.

He only screamed once as the many spikes were driven into his body,

and as he lay bleeding to death, the last thing he heard was

Drusilla's voice.

"You didn't let me play."

---------

"And this has been going on how long?" Cordelia asked as she pressed the

cold compress to her forehead. She was slowly getting used to Spike

actually being in the room and not trying to kill her; she'd managed

not to faint again after she'd been revived for the second time.

"Two months, give or take a couple of weeks," Buffy replied from within

the comfort of Spike's arms.

"Okay," she took a deep breath and looked at Spike,"Last time I saw you,

you wanted to kill us all. What changed?"

Spike shrugged, "A cave," he smiled, earning a glare from Buffy.

"What? I'm so not understanding," Cordy replied, eyes narrowed in

confusion.

"The Slayer and I had a...bonding experience in a cave," he replied.

Buffy punched him on the arm.

"Oh," Cordelia replied. Then her eyes widened in understanding "Oh!"

She looked to Buffy. "You really have a thing for vampires, don't

you?"

Buffy shrugged, "He's cute when he's running from the cops."

"First, me and Xander. Then, Willow and a werewolf," Cordy muttered,

"Now, Buffy and Spike." She shuddered. "Weird."

"Umm, Slayer, it's getting late," Spike commented purposely. When Buffy

looked at him, he cocked an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I guess it is." She stood up quickly. Then to her friends, she

stated, "We need to...go. Um, Cordy, we'll talk later." She and Spike

headed to the library doors. "Bye, guys. Willow, call me later!" she

called out as the library doors swung shut.

Before Cordy could even open her mouth to ask, Xander, Willow, and Oz

each ordered, "Don't ask!"

"Spike!" Buffy exclaimed as he quickly pulled her into an alley and

pinned her against a wall. He kept her against the wall with his knees

while he kissed her roughly and his free hand explored her body. When

he finally broke the kiss, Buffy was breathing hard. "Shouldn't we wait

until we're home?"

"Can't. Don't want to," he replied as he kissed her again. As his tongue

tore into her mouth, his hands moved under her shirt and massaged her

breasts. Buffy moaned into his mouth as she felt her nipples respond

to his touch and felt his arousal as rubbed against her thigh.

"Well, well," a voice spoke from the shadows, instantly killing

the mood. Angel stepped towards them and smiled at the sight before

him."If it isn't my ex and her new lover," he taunted.

"Hiya, Angel, come to give your blessing?" Buffy taunted right back at

him.

"Actually, I was walking by and heard the sounds of two people rutting

around like monkeys in heat and figured, why, it must be the town slut,

Buffy Summers," he laughed. Buffy balled her fists and stepped forward

ready to work out any hatred she felt for Angel on his face, but Spike

stopped her by clamping his hand down on her wrist.

"Not your fight, pet," he commented, pulling her back to his chest. He

kissed her temple, then faced Angel. "Am I right? You have a problem with

me, so c'mon." Spike's fist connected with Angel's jaw seconds after he'd

spoken the last word.

As Angel picked himself up off the ground, he smirked, "It ends tonight."

----------

As Buffy watched, Angel lunged at Spike and knocked the blond vampire

to the ground, but, once he was on the ground, Spike managed to levy

a kick to Angel's stomach sending him rebounding into several trash

cans. The noise the trash cans made when he impacted with them attracted

an unwanted spectator.

"Hey! Are you okay?" a male voice called out from the mouth of the alley.

Buffy stared at the two fighting vampires and, realizing they weren't

going to stop, turned to the beginning of the alley and walked to the

man.

"Hi!" Buffy exclaimed, faking happiness and was suddenly very aware

of her disheveled look when she was face to face with the boy. Her

eyes narrowed in recognition. "Hey, do I know you?" she asked,

cringing as she heard another vampire body slam into either more

trash cans or something else that was metal and made a clanging

sound.

"Yeah, I'm Scott. Are you all right?" His eyes searched her face,

and Buffy felt herself blushing.

"Um, yeah, it's just...." She trailed off trying to think of an

excuse for the fight.

"Just what? Do you need help? Should I call the police?"

"NO!" Buffy replied, a little too quickly. "My brother...finally

met my boyfriend...and they're having some issues," she smiled

weakly, hoping this Scott guy would believe her.

His eyes narrowed slightly then he looked up sharply as the sound

of breaking would filled the night. Then he looked back to her.

"If you're sure, you're going to be okay...."

"I'll be fine. Promise," she offered, smiling weakly again as

the sound of two bodies being forced through glass reached her ears.

"Ummmm, gotta go!" she offered over her shoulder as she headed back

into the darkness of the alley.

"Spike!" Buffy hissed searching the shadows for any sign of her

wayward boyfriend. Then she saw the broken window. It was high

up the wall, and as Buffy leaned against the building behind her,

she wondered how they'd managed to get up that high.

When Spike impacted with the floor of yet another one of Sunnydale's

abandoned warehouses, he felt the familiar pain as his left arm

shattered and heard Angel's taunting laughter.

"Look's like we're both incapacitated, Spike," Angel commented,

limping towards Spike.

Spike chuckled, "Oh, I can still fight, Angel-boy," and lifted the

piece of glass that had been lying under him. He slashed at Angel,

but the older vampire dodged the piece of glass, grabbed Spike's

wrist, and broke it in a quick gesture.

"Not very well, I see," he taunted, grabbing Spike's throat and

forcing him up against a wall. "Look who's the Slayer's lap dog

now." He smirked as Spike struggled against Angel's iron grip.

"I bet it's eating you up inside that I got there first," Angel

hissed.

Then Spike did the unexpected; he just smiled at Angel. Unfortunately

Angel missed the fire that blazed in Spike's eyes. "You know,

Angel, at first it did." He paused to let Angel bask in Spike's

revelations. "But then I realized something." The smile drained from

Spike's face and he kneed Angel hard. As his sire writhed on the

ground, Spike loomed over him.

"I'm there now," he taunted, pulling a piece of wooden crate from

one of the trench coat's pockets. When he'd been thrown against the

crate in the alley, he'd improvised, grabbing the shard and stuffing it

into his pocket. Just in case.

He smiled down at Angel, but before he plunged the make shift stake into

Angel's heart, he kicked Angels' smug face with a boot covered foot. Then

he raised the stake, winked at his sire, and brought it down in an arc.

Angel made a satisfying grunt as the stake was embedded in his chest;

then he screamed as he turned into dust.

Buffy looked up as she heard the scream from inside the warehouse. She'd

refused to go inside for fear that she'd arrive in time to see Spike die.

So, she'd waited outside, and now was the moment of truth. She heard

faint scrapping as someone climbed up the inside wall, and Buffy sucked

in a breath and gripped her stake tighter.

Her breath came ruching out when she the blond head poke out of the

window. Spike pulled himself out with one hand and dropped bonelessly

to the ground. Buffy dropped her stake and hurried over to him. She

pulled his head into her lap as she pushed his hair back away from his

eyes.

He opened weary eyes and smiled up at her. "Hey, love," he whispered.

She smiled back at him.

"You know you could have used the door," she laughed and kissed his

lips gently. When she broke the kiss, he lifted his hand and softly

stroked her face.

"Buffy?" he asked, and when she looked at him, he continued. "Take me home."

--------

Buffy lay next to a sleeping Spike in his bed and cradled the phone

to her hear as she listened to the library phone ring. Finally, Willow's

voice came over the line.

"Hello?" her voice was filled with desperation.

"Hey, Will," Buffy offered.

"Oh, God, Buffy, Are you all right? When you didn't answer your phone

earlier, we were afraid that Angel had--" Willow began.

"Angel won't be a problem anymore," Buffy replied simply. She'd listened

to Spike's story as she'd bandaged his wounds.

"Really? Giles will want the specifics," Willow commented, straight to the

point.

"Um, Will, could you do me a favor?"

"Anything."

"Don't tell Giles until tomorrow, okay? I don't want to have to

wake Spike up so he can tell his story."

"Of course." An awkward silence hung in the air.

"So, how's Cordy dealing with the news?" Buffy asked, changing the

subject.

"Not very well. She screamed at Xander for thirty minutes for not

telling her sooner. Oz finally had to break it up. Cordelia devised

the perfect punishment for Xander," Willow replied, also happy for

the subject change.

"What?" Buffy laughed, not noticing Spike's eyes flutter open.

"She's taking him shopping for a gift for you and Spike, and I think

I heard her mutter something about 'a few more pairs of shoes as well'."

Buffy could hear Willow's happiness through the phone. Then she felt

the mood change, and she knew what was coming. "Um, Buffy, if you

don't mind me asking, you don't have to answer of course, but what if

we could have recursed Angel?"

"Willow, I...don't know. I'm not sure I even want the old Angel back;

I mean, I'm in love, and I don't think I could ever have felt that for

Angel after everything that happened. I love Spike, and I couldn't be

happier," Buffy replied sadly.

"I'm glad you're happy, Buffy." Willow took a deep breath. "And no

matter what Xander says, we're behind you."

"Thanks, Will," Buffy smiled as she heard Xander and Cordelia's

voices in the background.

"Oh, Buffy, I gotta go, before Cordy breaks something, namely Xander."

"Bye, Will, See you tomorrow." She hung up the phone and gently stroked

Spike's head. Then she noticed his eyes were open.

"Slayer, did you mean what you said?" he asked softly, tightening his arms

around her waist.

"Every word," she smiled. "I love you, Spike." He smiled back at her and

kissed her quickly.

"Now," he responded, rolling over on top of her and pinning her to the

bed with his legs. "Where were we?"
