What is your favorite Faith ship, and why?
I'll start off. I'm kind of weird because I don't really have a favorite! There's things about almost every ship I like. The parental taking care of her by Angel, the wild chemistry with Spike, the many things in common with Xander, the new-ness of Wood, the cute crush of Connor, the respect with Gunn....I like all of them lol!!
If I *had* to pick one, I'd probably pick either Spike, because I love their chemistry, or Xander, because well...for some weird reason Faith and Xander just seem to fit.
So what's your favorite? _________________ :: Close your eyes and and see

...I hate ships, outside of anything implied on the show. Faith hated Xander, so I could never see that working (plus he's just kinda lame...Faith needs someone more on her level), Connor annoyed the hell out of me (and Faith kicked his ass how many times?), and I just don't see Gunn working out.
That said, I have no problem with Spike or Principal Wood. Spike and Faith, in my opinion, are much more suited to each other than Spike and Buffy are, and we all saw that Principal Wood was able to break down some of Faith's defenses.
Now...shower time!!! *leaves* _________________

I always found that Faith and Spike were an awesome pairing. The chemistry, the dirtiness of it all. It just works.
Of course, I thought of Wesley as well. Think of it, he's her Watcher. She tortured him and he still forgave her. He was her strength against Angelus. I just see them being together because he has learned about forgiveness, something that she desperately needs. |

Well.. as we are seem to be talking non-slash 'ships here.. :p
I think Wood, despite there was only a few episodes of their relationship he really did bring out the 'best' in her. Yknow what she seemed to have been fighting for, and realised about herself in prison that she was inheriently good and very soft inside. And I think he definately would be the strength where she would see herself fail.
As for everyone else well... Wesley was just way too much of a father-figure imho. Spike just screamed her old personality.. Yes they got on very well, shared the same view points etc.. but it would have been a short lived... 'firey' relationship anyways!
I cant comment on Connor or Gunn tho really... Connor was just the little kid that just needed putting down and Gunn was the quick-tempered friend..
But now.. if we were talking about Fuffy then... _________________ you know i can chase it, i can beat it, i know it's absurd

Wow, interesting question....
Obviously, the Faith-Angel dynamic is cool because it's that father-daughter type thing she had with the Mayor, only this time daddy dearest isn't sadistically evil (most of the time). I think the understanding these two have with each other is an integral part of their characters, and I think Faith stuck with her rehab not just because Angel helped her before he she went to prison, but because he kept visiting her once she was behind bars, which gave her the strength to keep going.
Faith and Wesley...I don't see Wes forgiving her so much as acknowledging the darkness she has seen simply because he too has sesn it. I mean, Wes has been to some dark, dark places ("I'll take away your bucket," anyone?), and I think that gives him and understanding of her that he didn't have back when he was her Watcher and she tortured the bloody hell out of him.
I can't see Faith sustaining a relationship with anyone from Angel's crew, not really sure why. Though I wouldn't mind seeing her beat the snot out of Connor a few more times. That boy can't get his butt kicked enough, if you ask me.
I think that back in the beginning, Faith genuinely liked Xander. They saw eye-to-eye on a lot of things, and even though Faith taking his virginity seemed very one night stand-ish, she was gentle with him ("I'll steer you around the curves.") and they even cuddled when it was over for a little while. I doubt Faith would've cuddled with Xander if she was just using him. _________________ Slaying's what we're built for. If you're not enjoying it, then you're doing something wrong. |

She might now have despised him as much in Season 7 (though we never really got to see them interact much, so who knows), but all I sensed from her in Season 3 was loathing towards Xander. She did try to choke him to death, after all...
Xander just didn't know how to reach Faith, so I think his ineffective attempts at comforting her just lowered him even further in Faith's eyes. This is all my own interpretation, of course, so everyone can feel free to bludgeon me with counterpoints now. _________________

I'd have to go for the Mayor. They had honest, true platonic love for each other and it was amazing to watch as two essentially evil characters took such delight in awarding gifts to each other. And I loved the way he'd chastise her in that absent, fatherly style of his - it was really sweet. I think that that ship stands out for me as it was one of the first times that I realised how deep, rounded and complex the Buffyverse really was.
In terms of guys, I'd have loved her to have hooked up with Angel one day. *awaits the flames* I guess, as they've both been to dark places and have known what it's like to be there, they had a connection that even Buffy couldn't rival. Plus they genuinely cared for each other.

Well, as for the choking, I really don't think Faith was in her sanest of mindsets when she did that. I doubt it was so much Xander as it was something in Faith's head just snapping, and poor Xander happened to be the one nearby when she started to lose it.
And in the beginning, I think Xander did reach Faith. He was straightforward and honest, and I think in some way, she kiled that. They seemed awful buddy-buddy when Xander told Faith that Angel was back (I think it was Revelations, not entirely sure) and they opted to team up.
That, and if Faith couldn't stand Xander, I don't think she would've de-flowered him. Say what you want about Faith, but she's not a slut and she does have her standards. _________________ Slaying's what we're built for. If you're not enjoying it, then you're doing something wrong. |

I have to agree with Mr. ED
Faith liked Xander. She didn't try to kill him after an extensive think through...he was just ...there, AND he was being stupid, too. I would've tried to kill him! She just snapped. It's that simple.
Ship-wise...
Imagine my horror when I think of all the guys out there for Faith, and I can only think of an Original character or...Xander! NOT canon, though. He's way too ineffectual and bland. However, in fic, when Xander is fleshed out properly(he went out and learned a martial art, he retains a dark side due to his background and hyenas), he and Faith work really well. They've a lot in common and I enjoy reading those two.
I love Angel as Faith's parental figure and guide. It works brilliantly and is a joy.
I did love Faith and the Mayor, too. It was great to see Faith finally getting the love and the attention she'd been crying out for. It was such a pity the man was evil

I like the idea of her and Angel I mean they did make a cute couple in Enemies. They were just cute together. Angel understood her and never gave up on her so she never gave up on him and I mean if Angel can get together with Cordy why not Faith? _________________ Faith: You didn't shoot to kill, looks like we're gonna have to up the stakes.

Angel's relationship with Faith has always been more of a father-daughter, mentor-apprentice one, not really one which I see spawning much romance (and yes, they were devilishly cute in Enemies, but that was all a rouse--supposedly Angelus, not Angel).
Cordy, on the other hand, was a trusted friend of Angel's after a time and their friendship eventually developed into love. _________________ Slaying's what we're built for. If you're not enjoying it, then you're doing something wrong. |

For me, Faith is the universal ship... I can see her and like her with just about anyone... a few of my faves:
Spike, but moreso Post-Chosen, once they've both had some time to mature.
Lindsey- My favorite Faith ship, even though it's completely unconventional. They both have that 'dark past' thing, but in different ways, and with different tones to their personality... it should be noted that I haven't seen season five of angel and am basing this off of season 1-2 Lindsey.
Wesley- Actually like it more after Faith has chilled a bit, but with Wes still maintaining some level of stuffiness |

Oh! Lindsey *drool drool*
Actually, I like the idea of Lindsey as a big brother type for Faith. It works for me ever since I read a fic where Lindsey's dad was an abusive step-dad to Faith and they were half-siblings - sort of.
I wish I could remember where I read it
