Boreanaz cast for role of Simon in "Alvin and the Chipmunks" Live action!

Exclusive news from Buffy.Fu's super cool Hollywood source has just informed us that David Boreanaz has just signed on to play the role of Chipmunk brother and brainy band member Simon in the new Chipmunks live action movie. No doubt following in Sarah Michelle Gellar's footsteps and reviving his career by doing a cartoon adaptation.  And like Sarah's Scooby movies there is no lack of stars in this picture! David will co star with Johnny Depp, playing the part of Alvin, and Danny DeVito staring as Theodore. David is quoted as saying "This part (Simon) really gives me a chance to spread my acting wings, and give me a serious role that I can use to show people the depth of my talent." he also added later "I smell Oscar". Sources close to the production say that David is very excited about the part, so much so that he has been actually calling his wife Alvin and speaking with a high pitched voice.
