This is Garth Ancier. He's the new WB chairman. He took Jordan "the devil" Levin's job. He's also making excuses for losing Angel. The problem with his excuses is that no matter what happened - whether it was Fox's fault for wanting to know early, or if it was Joss' fault for asking early - they still cancelled the show. They cancelled it without hesitation. They just quickly made up their minds. And now Mr. Ancier is trying to get the WB out of trouble with it's audience. His main problem is that his programming for next fall sucks donkey nuts.

"Lost in Space" didn't work. "Dark Shadows" didn't work. He has to put his faith in another crappy Drew Carey show that should last 2 seasons at best, and another crappy Jeff Foxworthy hick comedy. Not to mention such dramas as "The Mountain" (which sounds like the O.C in frigid weather) and "Jack and Bobby" (which the WB wants us to know it has NOTHING to do with the Kennedys --- well, why the hell would you make it then? What the hell IS it about?)

The WB's future doesn't look bright. So Mr. Ancier wants to get Whedon and Boreanaz on board to do some Angel TV movies. It could be too late for that. Boreanaz seems to want to leave Angel in the dust, and Joss is busy working on Serenity. If Serenity is a huge hit, Whedon will be in-demand in Hollywood more-so than he is now. The WB can blame anyone they want for losing Angel, but they should look in the mirror....or better yet, look at their paperwork, because in there it will show that THEY cancelled Angel.
