 Busy Week! Still, Be Sure to Check out Point Pleasant
Tonight, Wednesday the 19th, the first hour of Point Pleasant premieres. It's a new show from Fox and Marti Noxon (Buffy & Angel producer/writer), and the second hour airs tomorrow, Thursday, the 20th. 9/8c. Now, I know that with the return of Amazing Race, new episodes of Stargate & Enterprise, and finally getting to the series episodes for Battlestar Galatica, you might think you've got enough TV for now. But come on, if this show has even a tiny chance of capturing some of that Buffy/Angel magic, then we all need to check it out.
Besides, The fabulous Richard Burgi is on it.
Sigh. I miss The Sentinel.
Anyway, while some bloggers are complaining that the show isn't filmed on location (So what? You ever notice the Toronto landmarks in Due South?), the premise does sound kinda fun. A lovely young blonde is washed up on the shore and taken to the town doctor (Burgi) only to find out that she is the daughter of Satan and a woman who has absolutely no luck with her boyfriends.
There's no doubt that the pilot will have awkward moments and be overwraught, but there seems to be some redeeming humor and a few small moments to keep the action and super-natural stuff fun. And as we all know, Fox just looooves to cancel shows if they don't get an audience super-quick, so be sure to give it a try.
