 | Cool money TV critic Looking forward to see James's new movie Cool money. |
Q: Mary of Madison - Dear Ms. Weintraub: I'm a fan of James Marsters of Buffy & Angel fame (given The WB's ratings this season, I do think they're idiots for not renewing Angel, or at the very least doing the Angel spinoff movies they talked about earlier.) Mr. Marsters has a new movie "Cool Money" playing on USA, March 18th. I'm sure Mr. Marsters will be wonderful, but after watching an episode of The Mountain to see his performance, I'd like to be able to watch him in something a little more interesting. Have you seen Cool Money? What did you think? Will you be reviewing it in your column?
A: Joanne Weintraub - Hi, Mary, and thanks for starting off the chat. I haven't gotten the "Cool Money" screener yet, probably because USA is doing a full court press on their starting-March-27 "Kojak" remake with Ving Rhames. (Got that screener, haven't watched it but did try one of the lollipops that came with it, which proved disappointing.) Anyway, I, too, am curious about the Marsters movie, not just because I was a fan of his immortal (in more ways than one) Spike, but because USA movies are just about evenly divided between "That was pretty cool" and "Did you SEE that thing last night?" What WAS that?" I hope too get it in time to review it in my Sunday column of March 13th.
