Vote at the SyFy Awards!

Two nominations for "Angel" at the 2005 SyFy Genre Awards! Sarah Michelle Gellar, "Astonishing X-Men" and "Lost" are nominated as well!
The voting will end in 27 days!
You have to register, before you are able to vote!

Sarah Michelle Gellar, "Angel", "Astonishing X-Men" and "Lost" (listed here, because of David Fury and Daniel Dae Kim) are nominated.
Here are the interesting categories:

BEST ACTOR/Television

Ben Browder, "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars"
Browder reprised his role as John Crichton, a human from the past who was slingshot into another part of the galaxy to help fight a war that needed to be fought in this SciFi Channel miniseries.

Joe Flanigan, "Stargate: Atlantis"
Flanigan grabbed the lead role of this Stargate spinoff with ease, providing fans with doses of both humor and heroism.

Matthew Fox, "Lost"
Waking up on an island with a bunch of people you never expected to spend the rest of your life with can be unsettling, at best.

Edward James Olmos, "Battlestar Galactica"
Blood, sweat and tears went into this role of Cmdr. William Adama ... and if you saw the first season finale, you will understand where the blood part comes from.

Nick Stahl, "Carnivale"
Not only can his character of Ben Hawkins do the healings, but he also has to go up against an evil preacher. Is it a battle that he ultimately wins?

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR/Television

James Callis, "Battlestar Galactica"
There's something going on in Dr. Gaius Baltar's mind, and her name is Number Six. No more Mr. Nice Gaius.

David Hewlett, "Stargate: Atlantis"
His character of Dr. McKay may never be happy about what's going on in Atlantis, but he does know how to keep things running.

Michael Hogan, "Battlestar Galactica"
The unsung hero of the reimagination, Hogan's portrayal of Col. Saul Tigh has turned a lot of heads.

Terry O'Quinn, "Lost"
No matter what O'Quinn touches, it's gold. A long-time genre actor, he continues his hot streak with a powerful character.

Michael Shanks, "Stargate SG-1"
He has to grow a beard this season so that fans won't confuse John Crichton with Daniel Jackson.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS/Television

Amy Acker, "Angel"
Last year's winner in this category, Acker has a chance to make it two in a row despite the cancellation of her show.

Tricia Helfer, "Battlestar Galactica"
Believe it or not, Helfer had little to no acting experience before 'Galactica.' We don't believe it.

Rachel Luttrell, "Stargate: Atlantis"
For someone who has spent her whole life living simply and avoiding the Wraith, this Keyla woman is a fast learner.

Grace Park, "Battlestar Galactica"
It's not very often that someone is asked to continue two almost identical roles in a single series, but Park pulled that off with Boomer and Caprica-Boomer.

Katee Sackhoff, "Battlestar Galactica"
Still reeling from some old-school fan complaints that Starbuck shouldn't be a woman, Sackhoff still blows away the rest of the cast with her superior portrayal of the space fighter pilot.

BEST ACTRESS/Movie

Sarah Michelle Gellar, "The Grudge"
This movie was scary as hell, thanks to the great acting of our favorite vampire slayer.

Milla Jovovich, "Resident Evil: Apocalypse"
Jovovich always is turning heads, and "Resident Evil" wouldn't be "Resident Evil" without her.

Kiera Knightley, "King Arthur"
Fantasy films don't always find their way to the Genre Awards unless it involves a small ring. That alone should show you how much Knightley shined in this film.

Julianne Moore, "The Forgotten"
Is there a role that Moore can not take on? If anyone knows, send us an e-mail.

Kate Winslet, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"
Finally, a movie where Winslet does not end up whispering sweet nothings into Leonardo DiCaprio's ear while floating on a door in the middle of the Atlantic.

BEST YOUNG ACTOR

Conchita Campbell, "The 4400"
Campbell could capture scenes like no other youngster could. And it helped make "The 4400" a success

Malcolm David Kelley, "Lost"
There is more to life than a dog ... but hey, that dog might become tasty if food runs short on the island.

Daniel Radcliffe, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
Never heard of Harry Potter. Is that some kind of book or something?

Amber Tamblyn, "Joan of Arcadia"
"Joan of Arcadia" is not getting the accolades it once did, but Tamblyn still shines in this role.

Sofia Vassilieva, "Medium"
Why didn't mom to remember to pack your lunch? Obviously, she foretold of your noontime disappointment.

BEST SPECIAL GUEST/Television

Claudia Black, "Prometheus Unbound," Stargate SG-1
Claudia Black in leather ... nope, just can't see it.

Jeffrey Combs, "The Aenar," Star Trek: Enterprise
Combs is a longtime staple of Star Trek, also known for his playing of a Vorta and a Ferengi in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"

Mira Furlan, "Solitary," Lost
I bet she carried those handcuffs around for a much more different reason than she lets on.

Richard Hatch, "Bastille Day," Battlestar Galactica
He might have blasted the reimagination, but the Apollo of the original series plays a rich character in the new series.

Callum Keith Rennie, "Flesh and Bone," Battlestar Galactica
No one can take that kind of abuse ... first he gets his faced smashed in by Adama, and then he gets sent out an airlock by President Roslin. Sheesh.

BEST EPISODE/Television

"33," Battlestar Galactica
Every 33 minutes, the Cylons attack the fleet. On Lifetime, every 30 minutes, the "Golden Girls" attack.

"Act of Contrition," Battlestar Galactica
Repenting for your sins? Don't do it on Cmdr. Adama's bad day.

"Not Fade Away," Angel
It's the end of Angel as we know it ... but dammit, tell us what happened already!

"Prometheus Unbound," Stargate SG-1
Leather and Claudia Black. Did we mention leather?

"Walkabout," Lost
The best twist episode of the year is right here.
Written by David Fury

BEST COMIC BOOK ISSUE

"Astonishing X-Men (Vol. 1)," Joss Whedon (Marvel)

"Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits," Garth Ennis (DC Comics)

"Identity Crisis No. 1," Brad Meltzer (DC Comics)

"Identity Crisis, No. 6," Brad Meltzer (DC Comics)

"Original Sins (Hellblazer, Book 1)," Jamie Delano (DC Comics)

BEST SERIES/Television

Battlestar Galactica, SciFi Channel
Already renewed for a second season and a full order, "Battlestar Galactica" may go down in history for reinventing science-fiction.

Carnivale, HBO
It's not clear if there will be a third season of this show, but the second season was just plain awesome.

Lost, ABC
One of the breakout series of the year ... it helped get ABC back on the map.

Stargate: Atlantis, SciFi Channel
This originally was an idea for a Stargate film, but has been flushed out much more nicely as a series.

Stargate SG-1, SciFi Channel
There will be a lot of changes in the ninth season, but one thing wont change -- the number of viewers.
