 | Talk Time Does BtVS provide interesting Material for academic analysis? What´s your opinion? |
More than any other television show (except for maybe Star Trek), Buffy the Vampire Slayer has occupied academics round the globe. Countless papers, PhD theses and books provide tons of material for the reader who´s not only interested in Buffy´s best hairstyle or weather or not our heroine loves Spike. Anyway, anyone who is could still read "Buffy and the Beast: An Analysis of Buffy and SpikeŽs Relationship." by Paul F. McDonald. ;)
The topics extend from linguistic studies like "Slayer Slang I and II" by Michael Adams or papers about pop culture and fandom like "Buffy´s Popularity, Television Criticism and Marketing Demands" by Amelie Hastie to studies about Buffy studies. The list is endless, the biggest (and not the only) site for Buffy studies Slayage.tv alone has 53 different categories for their essays.
What´s your opinion: Does BtVS provide interesting Material for academic analysis, and if so, have you ever read papers essays or books that deal with topics like these?
