Michelle Trachtenberg has just bought her first house. "I'm moving out of the old homestead and working on decorating mine. It's here in L.A.," says the 19-year-old native New Yorker and teen favorite. "I love L.A."
Michelle has the movie "The Dive From Clausen's Pier" coming up on Lifetime next month. She plays a 23-year-old woman who can't cope with her fiance's (Will Estes) paralyzing accident and deserts him for a new life and a new affair (Sean Maher).
It's another step on the journey to more adult roles for the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-star and "Ice Princess" lead - who says she is more proud of her supporting work in the indie drama "Mysterious Skin," a story of the aftermath of child sexual abuse, "than anything else I've done."
She notes, "I'm thinking probably for the next few months I'll stick to some independent movies. They allow you to explore more as an actress. But I'm a little schizophrenic in my choices. I respond to what I respond to."
