Anthony Head talks about winning his Theatregoers' Choice award for best supporting actor. Also, check out the pics of the event! |
... Meanwhile, Anthony Head was amazed to learn that not only had he won Best Supporting Actor, for his performance as Richard E Grant’s drunken friend in the revival of Simon Gray’s Otherwise Engaged, but that he’d done so with 29% of the overall vote in his field of six.
“Blow me sideways!” exclaimed Head. “I’ve never won anything before – well not since I was named Most Promising Actor in a local am-dram competition.”
He also told Whatsonstagecom when collecting his Theatregoers’ Choice prize: “It’s very nice to have this award, especially since it’s the people who see the show who decide. Your awards are a great idea. The more there is out there to encourage people to be hands-on with theatre is good. I love the idea that people can have their opinions heard. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.”
