That was so well written - you surely have the characters and dialogue down - but the literary merit to the story itself - your descriptions and story were top notch. I would love to read more. Thanks.

Well, I wasn't aware there were symbols to be looking for,but now I know this might become an even more interesting read than it is already. I like Spike not being led around by Buffy's little finger. And so far, you pull his character rather well, which I am grateful for. Off to read next chapter now.

Um... WTF? Weren't you supposed to write another story after this one? Or did I miss something in the meaning of the term 'series'? Come on! You gotta write more to that. Leaving that fic as a stand-alone is like... like... Um. For lack of an appropriate comparison, we'll just say that it;s like something good with no ending, which transforms it into something bad. Er... yeah. And I can't get into your lifejournal. That normal?

Enjoyable read with a nice atmospheric undercurrent both in the stormy setting and in the state of Buffy and Spike's relationship. You've made me curious as to where they go from here so I'm looking forward to any continuation.

The storm was exciting and having the ghosts help out was a clever twist. This was a well written, atmospheric interlude in Spike and Buffy's relationship. Buffy's stubborn clinging to her anger and fear was tempered by the fear the storm brought to both of them. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Really like this story, Excellent characterization of Buffy and Spike; very believable interaction. I have some theories about the symbolism of the storm, all the water, the ghosts, the lighter and candles. I'm going to have to head to your journal and see if I'm totally off base!

Title: Part Three
Again, really enjoying this one. Very believable Buffy and Spike; you have a great feel for their voices. "To her eyes, it suddenly looked as if he was about to cry. That surprised her. Somehow it hadn’t ever registered how deeply Spike was hurting because of the rift in their relationship. He was mentally curled up in the fetal position, lashing out at her to keep from being hurt himself. She’d always assumed he was simply angry with her because she’d rejected him – but no, Spike was just hurting. But damn it, so was she." Loved this passage.
This story is genuinely creepy-- I mean that in a good way. I'm reading it on a cold, stormy day just before bedtime; and I find myself glancing into the corners. Brr! And I'm hoping to hear more about Galveston!

Really enjoying this one. I watched a program on (I think it was) the history channel about the Galveston Hurricane. No wonder Spike's wigged out! I went through a hurricane as child; we were FAR from the epicenter but it was a terrifying.

This is fascinating; I'm going to have to re-read it to make sure I get at least some of the symbols. I think I get the rain; and Spike's lighter seems pretty clear, but...
And i love the idea of Buffy and Spike's road trip!

You're very quick this time :-D I didn't think that this were the intention of the ghost. And good that Buffy told why she won't forgive Spike. I'm sure he can work something out now he knows. And Buffy will too. And the symbols? Can't say I got it - was too busy reading :)

Yeah... first time that Buffy discovers what it feels to be alone - even under people... especially Spike. Well, it's partly her fault. But maybe they can work it out, huh? Wonder if Buffy reactions are quick enough or if she'll have a mirror in her face - very soon :) TNX for updating here, too!

Mmm - they found a ghosthouse... :) And Buffy knows now that Spike is only hurting. Looking forward to find out what happened to Spike in Galveston. Because he didn't want to talk about.

Wonderful atmosphere. Isaac's Storm, describing the Galveston hurricane, was a fascinating read for me last summer. Eager to see how the storm and their relationship develops. Very intrigued by the house. "Gaudy and excessive", "stifled much of the charm", "Maybe the house wasn’t so bad, after all"...hmm, interesting.

I like this premise and you're doing a good job with the settings. I always enjoy Buffy and Spike at each other's throat and the dialogue is sharp.
