The whole opening paragraph was just brilliant. I hate in stories when someone gets embarrassed, and I think when he doesn't like her outfit, I actually turned red in sympathy.
Author's Response: You know, I think that if she was wearing that in the bedroom (just for him), he would like it plenty. And that, as embarrassing as it was--his telling her that he liked the way she usually dressed was sort of better.
Well, I hope it was. That's what I was going for. I mean she got all dressed up in this racy outfit and he said that he actually liked her just the she was, that she didn't have to change for him.
Maybe he could have handled it better. He is a boy. :)
Thank you. I get embarrassed super easily myself. Maybe putting it in my stories will help me deal with it--like free therapy. That you all read. :)

This story is so cute and really interesting with Spike's awkward accessment of Buffy and Buffy's crush on him. Don't give up Buffy! Next time make him some British goodies, that way he can not dismiss the baked goods so quickly.

Thanks for sharing! This is a cute story, and I'm loving it already. Love how determined Buffy is, but I'm sure she'll win Spike over in no time, LOL.
What's the age difference between her and Spike?
Author's Response: Buffy is nineteen and Spike is twenty-six. So not creepy different, just take a pause different. :)

Right now would be good. ;) LOVE this... gruff, reluctant Spike is SO hot, and I love how Buffy chases after him for a change. *g* I had lots of fun reading this chapter, not just the Spuffy interactions but the ones between Buffy, Anya and Cordelia as well. Such a great start to a story! How did protector/rescuer Spike turn into a grump Gus?
OK - he's not a perv, and he thought she was too young, but it's fun seeing Buffy have to work for Spike's attention for a change.

Alright, what's wrong with him? How could he not be falling for her? I'm falling for her and that doesn't even make any sense. I can't wait to find out what his deal is. I also love this line: "Everyone likes cookies, girl." So simple, yet so hilarious.
