Title: A Brief Respite
This has got to be one of the best AU Spuffy stories I've had ever read. Definitely one of the top 5, so I'm praying that RL hasn't made you abandon this story!!! Plus I love a Spike and Tara friendship because they seem to balance each other out. I can't wait to meet a souled up Dru who's not obsessed with her "Daddy" and I wonder what story Angel is going to try to spin to get out of this doghouse, (I really, really hate Angel). Please update this masterpiece soon, I can't wait to read more:)

Wow I just read all 4 chappies and i really liked it!!....love your Spike and the explanation about the curse, definately makes more sense than in canon.
I'm enjoying Tara and Spike friendship and can't wait to meet the others, and who is after our heroes,hmmm?

I'm really enjoying this . I never saw Spike as a loner ( he likes to talk to much and needs an audience) I can see him traveling with a entourage. I see him as turning people more equals in strength, intelligence ( so see him turning Angel's Wesley ). Nice story enjoying your Spike immensely. Will be watching for the updates :)

This is so much more interesting then the typical Spike got cursed to story. I have no idea where you are going with this but it is fascinating.
Author's Response: Thanks mike13z50! I'm not always sure where I'm going either... ;) The next couple of chapters will introduce more players and start getting at why Spike has finally braved a Slayer-having-Hellmouth. Glad you like it so far!!

I always thought they were stupid not to enlist Anya's help too. IIRC, they only did that in S7 for Beljoxa's eye. Sounds as if Buffy is diving into DeNile - and who is after Spike & Tara?
Author's Response: I know! Anya was totally underutilized! I just love her!
And just a bit of a teaser... the house has a lot more going on than just Spike and Tara... hehe!

I always wondered about his curse. It seemed to easy... I always thought the demon had to be happy to and deflowering a virgin slayer would have made Angelus sing to the heavens! And the soul being in love with her was the final piece.
Why can't Spike afford the stress. Who are those guys looking for him?
Buffy runs nothing out of the ordinary there. Just wait though, she'll blow when everyone least expects it.
Author's Response: Thanks ginar369! The explanation of Angel's curse and why he lost it on the show has always bugged me. The curse was put on the demon so shouldn't that mean, at the very least, that the demon had to get happy?!?!? So, this is my answer to that problem. I'm glad you liked it!

That always bothered me. I mean if some one had cursed me I would want to know everything about it. Why Angel never looked into it in over a 100 years boggles the mind.
Here is Spike offering Angel a permanent soul and he obviously didn't take it. All that pain and death could have been avoided!
I can't wait for more! How did Spike and Tara meet? Who are the others with Spike?

So the broody one has been holding out. Can't say I'm suprised, he was never one for sharing. Even with his true love. I was happy to see Tara involved, I wonder who the other members of the team are. Really enjoying where your taking this. Looking forward to more.
