Great idea! It would have been a good way to go in the eighth season. I always thought Spike should have gotten to experience Buffy running after him for a change. Their relationship, by the end of the seventh season, had developed into a strong one that was based on friendship, trust and love. She had finally gotten to the point where she realized that her belief in Spike was what was important. Not what her freiends thought about him.

Ooh! Very original. Wonderful start. Its good to see someone get some sense and go to Tara for a spell so that it actually goes right. But I did have a problem with Buffy's, "She wondered why all the men in her life thought she’d be better off alone. Idiots." comment. Now I always thought that Angel and Riley leaving the way they did...well just them in general were stupid. First with Buffy mourning her relationship with Angel, and her feeling guilty for "making" Riley cheat on her...just argh. But she shouldn't have added Spike into that comment. Isn't she the one who ended that one when he didn't want to? Can't wait for more. ; )

I like how you are using the characters. It’s a wise way of change the story but keep having the BtVS spirit. I just suggest you to take your time before Buffy will realize she’s in love with Spike, too fast would seem unreal, at least for me.
