I noticed the chapter number but I thought the letter was wrong. Seems as if Buffy is acting the same way with men then Spike does with women (demon or human). I wonder what went wrong when Buffy still feels the pain because of Spike. But she expects him to be alive.
But the slayers are rouge indeed, not connected to the council. It's W&H to blame for them then. I don't think Spike and his team knows but I'm not sure.

I can picture this Spike Come on to every female demon, human or slug you run in to. He doesn't sound like the Spike I know. And not wanting love... I wonder what made him so different, what happened. He forgot Buffy very easy it seems. ~ More soon I hope, it's good to see you posting again. I hope I'll be able to follow you, but when the Spike/others gets too much for me I'll wait till it's finished before I start reading again.

Just forgot to make a li'l complaint----re: Dana---don't make her out to be so evil or bad----she was a victim herself, mentally unhinged, deranged due to the things done to her. Pitiable that she was unable to be helped prior to having activated as a Slayer (a situation that Buffy and Willow definitely did not take into consideration with their spell---hence, in addition, THEIR responsibility to care for, rehab properly (not like Old Council) slayers unable to properly function as such, and to do whatever necessary with those that are indeed evil or rogue)....Hopefully Dana was rehabbed by the best available once with New Council and Slayers, or at least cared for and contained. But she should not be represented as evil (tho' I realize we all thought so with shock when she cut off our Spike's lovely hands!!!! Gasp!)...her deeds were wrong, to society, but right in her mind, which was tormented and confused. Bad enough what happened to her, but add in the confusing enough Slayer Dreams, the infusion/activation of her "Slayer essence/slayer demon" (however you want to look at it----not so far off from the idea of demon possession, at that...), and the way the memories, dreams, etc manifested as/almost as multiple personalities, well, the girl was fruit loops, a wonder she was able to do more than drool...look at what becoming a Slayer did to Buffy, and magnify it 100+ times in Dana.
I think even Spike did not feel that Dana was evil, and if represented that he does, I feel would be out of character for him.
OK, getting off soapbox now!
Thanx again, lookin' fwd to more!

Liking it so far---seems interesting. A bit slow to get into but picking up, I think?
So, Ole Spike being a whore-dawg, and funnily enough getting lectured by Connor! Yet that bitter exterior isn't as tough as he makes out, eh? A few cracks in the armor, still a tremor over his blonde....in five years he can't pick up a phone? Surely she knows...?
And Faith---hopefully she isn't really dead? Will we only see her in flashbacks? Was/Is this an ID change/wiping her off the face of the earth/cloaking thing like in the new Buffy S8 comics?
And speaking of Faith---Conner having a bit of a crush, maybe? What ever became of his pre-med? Go the way of the Do-Do after NFA? He'd be what, 23, 24 y/o now? What did he mean by Spike abandoning his family?
And Gunn actually surviving NFA....now that's a twist rarely seen. Usually he is, of course the first to die. And in a wheelchair? How did he get that way? His were belly wounds, at least initially, in NFA. Was he stomped down literally by some of the demon horde?
Glad to see that even tho' he went back to his roots at the end, NFA, that Gunn retained his sharp lawyer 's intellect and memories, especially if he is going to be left in a chair.
And Illyria---there's quite another twist...she usually is one of THE survivors in fic, tho' not wanting really to BE in this world. She'd sure come in handy in this fight, I'd bet. From the mention of Gunn's "twitching", I thought maybe he had neurological damage, or maybe a severe nervous problem like PTSD (like an event like NFA or any similar thing wouldn't give them ALL that!) but did not expect him to be in a wheelchair---you will spill more on this one?
Herschel---where have I heard that name before? Someplace I have read something with a Herschel sounding very much like this one, or maybe the same?
Any relation to Doyle? That would be cool.
And Spike killing a third slayer---even tho' apparently rogue---what is the backstory on that one? Will it come out? I think it would definitely add to the tale to flesh that out, as it apparently deeply affected him, tho' he won't act like it outwardly. And Buffy/New Council must've known, or at least had some inkling about reports of a rogue slayer, or perhaps one of the Wiccas/seers having a vision of a slayer death/loss...???? How is Buffy, when eventually they DO meet up, going to deal with Spike having killed yet another slayer (as surely she is going to feel like that would have been HER baileywicke, or duty, or opportunity to brood...besides feeling like he is all evil or somesuch for having done it)???? Surely the New Council still has wet ops teams to deal with Rogue issues?
Don't suppose Gwen might make an appearance? Always thought she'd make a grand addition or at least working associate, to AI. Any others show up too? Anne, perhaps? Either one, besides Illyria, still had affection for Gunn.
Keep it up, and crank more chappies out quickly!

Interesting start.. Angel is a bit harder for me to read because I haven't watched all episodes. I miss season 4 and parts of 3, not sure. But when it is Spuffy I try to follow it.

In character Spike on Spuffy realm? How unusual. Looks like the kind of fic I could probably get addicted to. Much as I'm liking the plotty stuff, thoroughly anxious for the Spuffy reunion. OTP and all. Not that I expect you to put them in the sack as soon as they, I'll be fine with crumbs.
