Don't know about the thank you at the end of section two. On the whole, the exchange seemed more fond than I remember from cannon. Inner thoughts and feelings aren't nessessarily the things we say and do, and I think you could have made it more subtle and still gotten the message across. But on the whole, a good story -- it does clear up why they kept Spike as long as they did, and made some wonderful jokes about the "spell" they were under. Well done.



Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed most of it. Don't know if I explained in summary or not, but it was someone else's comments about those two moments after the spell that sparked the bunny. I did look at the dvd before writing it to see if it would work, and sure enough, the smack was half-hearted and she touched him on the shoulder. It's not much, but enough to build a story on. :)

Author's Response: I think you'll find that many/most of my fics, - especially those set in early seasons where to continue means to rewrite the season - end when I have Buffy and Spike in what seems like a good, or hopeful, place. Sometimes a plot bunny will pop up later and there will be a follow-up fic set in whatever AU situation the first story has created, but not often or always. Usually I will leave them when they are either in a relationship, or obviously in a good place from which a relationship could develop. The focus is more on whatever twist of canon events (or purely made-up events) might conceivably make a relationship possible than it is on exploring how that relationship might change the rest of the season. I hope that works for you on these shorter fics that don't seem finished. They aren't meant to be endings, but beginnings. :)
