pj! I remember wishing one of your stories would be finished seriously about a decade ago. Amazing. I just tried an old password I used to use and amazingly got in too. Memories!

THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT STORY!

Reviewer: Embers and Flame Signed Date: 11/23/2011 - 11:34 pm Title: Perfect Imperfection

Just finished reading the whole story... At times it made me ill, but the love that the characters had for each other was beautiful. Those who had a problem with it were warned repeatedly. As disturbing as the subject matter was, it was a well defined story. I would read more of your work.

Aww what a nice way to wrap things up :) It's wonderful that Buffy and Spike are starting their lives together like this. The both of them have been through so much, but they're committed to being together and improving themselves. They deserve lots of happiness. And speaking of deserving - I couldn't be happier that Hank got what *he* deserved too. Not the hanging I wanted, but still a fitting way for him to go lol

*Hugs* I know this story was a tough one for you to write, and it was tough to read in some parts, but you persevered and got it done. You should be proud :)

If anyone deserved a fun-filled vacation in Italy, it's Buffy :) I'm glad that the two lovebirds had a great time on their trip. The Xmas presents were very sweet. I had to chuckle about the Billy Idol autographed picture lol And again, it was so nice to see Buffy feeling like a 'normal' young woman.

lol Creative way of sneaking in some Slayer and Vamp action into an AU fic :P Very nice action it was too!

The Bronze scene and the song Buffy sang were very sweet :) It's wonderful to see her getting stronger and stronger with every chapter.

Thanks for the shout-out ;)

It's great that Buffy is ready for intimacy again. And my, my, my - who wouldn't be happy to have Spike to help them that way? :P And could he be any sweeter? Making her feel oh-so-good and then telling her it was ok to wait for his turn. Buffy is a lucky gal to have found him :)

To be honest with you I liked the idea. I think you can do great stuff with the material however I didn't quite understand your story. In my opinion someone bein raped and abused by their own family wouldn't really jump right into a relationship. Also, you've described this horrible scenario at the beginning with hank and the knife etc and didn't really write anything else except for the one time beating. Someone who'd be capable of doing such horrid things wouldn't just do it once. What I also didn't understand is how Buffy almost moved in with Spike at the beginning, without Hank having anything to say to that or do anything. The idea is really good, the fic should be a lot darker for it to be really real, you know. It would probably be a story I couldn't stomach but it would need that darkness and to be frank, disgustingness to be realistic. Just my thoughts. Keep up your work though.

Author's Response: You'd be surprised how many abused girls/boys DO jump into relationships. Everyone reacts differently to abuse and you can't stereotype abused teens. Spike was her rock, her support system, and he loved her unconditionally. That was something she'd never had before. At times she DID run from being with him, but she realized there was enough darkness in her life already. As for there not being enough rape and beating scenes, I think there were plenty. I showed a glimpse into her life and chose not to give a nightly playby of it. He didn't just do it once. He did it hundreds of times over the years, but once Spike came into her life he sort of rescued her. Hank isn't the type of person to care if she goes missing. He didn't care about her enough. She was just a sex toy to him. I appreciate your input, but I firmly stand by what I wrote. I don't think you realize just how difficult it was to write chapters 18 and 19. This will be my last very dark fic. I'm not in a dark enough place in my life where I can write this stuff anymore. So I hope you enjoyed the story anyway and that you'll consider reading my lighter things. :)

Fantastic ending! Very realistic in showing how they progressed over time. I loved her looking forward to what the future was to hold for her, despite all the horrible things that happened. The song was very fitting, and it fit as the title of the whole story.
I enjoyed reading this every step of the way, including the parts that were painful to read, but I think they were important to progress the story. I'm glad you kept going until the end. Thanks for taking the time to write it!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) It was hard to write at times and it was a lot of work, but I feel so accomplished. I'm surprised at how many people are reviewing, good and bad. I've never had this many reviews before. lol I hope you'll read and enjoy some of my other things too. :)

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 08:53 pm Title: A Season of Change

It's so good to see that Buffy's making lots of progress :) She's one uber-tough chick to be coming out the other side of the darkness she'd been forced to go through. Again, I thought her emotions and thoughts were well done. I like her new attitude and spunky hairstyle too lol Spike was a sweetheart as usual, love that too :)

Awwww! That was so sweet! And I agree, the song does fit very well. I'm glad she has finally let go and is letting herself be happy. She definitely deserves it.

*points and laughs at Hank* He DEFINITELY deserved that too, the stupid prick-faced asshole. Grrr.

I loved this story, it was very good =D Thanks for sharing!

Author's Response: I totally agree. She does deserve some happiness after the horrible life she's lead. It's sad that it took so long for her to find it, but that was the journey I wanted to portray. We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief that her troubles are over, as far as Hank is concerned. He got what was coming to him. Thanks for reviewing so much hun! *big hugs*

Wow, he spoiled her again this Christmas. That was a good chapter, I enjoyed reading their (s)excepedes. Very cute = ) I'm going to go look at that picture he was teasing her about soon, after I finish reading the next chapter! Can't wait to see how it ends!

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 07:33 pm Title: The Lessons We Learn

Woot! They got to the intamacy and she didn't flee. That is good. And Spike with the "Tonight is about you" thing was great too, showing her that she didn't have to go where she might not be ready to go yet. Very good = )

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 07:19 pm Title: A Season of Change

Yay! She is making so much progress and that is soo good. BTW the visual of Buffy dolled up as you described... yuummm.

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 03:03 pm Title: Rocky Road to Recovery

I thought you did a really good job at describing Buffy's post-traumatic stress. I think that's what someone who'd been through hell would react. And poor Spike being at a loss as to how to help her *sniffles* Thank goodness that the fog lifted from Buffy's mind somewhat, and she's trying to go on living, not just existing. I hope Buffy can get some help for her nightmares too, that was so scary and sad.

*Hugs*

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 01:59 pm Title: April Rain

O_o That was another *very* difficult chapter to read. I know I was warned, but it was still disturbing and made my tummy hurt. Hank = Eeeeevil.

But thank God the nightmare and physical suffering are over for all of them (I wish poor Faith and Percy hadn't had to die so horribly), and Hank will hopefully be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Too bad they don't hang people anymore, Hank deserves something horrible like that. Poor Buffy will be haunted forever, but she's lucky to have a man who loves her to help her through the rough emotional times ahead.

*Hugs*

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 12:45 pm Title: Misery Business

O_o That was uber disturbing, but I know it was meant to be. Hank is beyond sick, he's pure evil. I had to skim, but I still read enough to feel nauseous. You got the horror of the situation down very well. This is not the sort of thing I feel comfortable reading, but I'm doing it because you've been cool to me, and I promised you I would.

*goes to get some ginger ale to settle tummy*

Author's Response: I'm sorry! *hides* I really hope you enjoy the ending and that it makes up for the badness. I did give you the full disclaimer though :( On the bright side, you'll never find anything bad like that again in my writing. So not my cup of tea anymore. So that's good, right?

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 12:19 pm Title: Paradise Lost

*Hides eyes* Oh this ain't lookin good for Buffy... Crazy Hank kidnapped Faith too?! I'm really, really hoping that the cops or Spike find them soon.

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 12:00 pm Title: I Wanna Grow Old With You

Aww! That was so sweet :D What you said in the endnotes is true: for some people, getting married young works. And this is Spuffy, so we know they're meant to be together, it's all good! lol I'm surprised, but happy, that Spike is as mature as he is in the story. Buffy had to grow up much too soon, so she's bound to be more certain, but he's right there with her and that's very cool :D *Smoochies*

Reviewer: PaganBaby Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 11:46 am Title: Freedom at Her Fingertips

Hank being carted away in cuffs was a great image! Buffy finally has her freedom, her dad being a nasty individual is on the record , and he's getting put away for a long time. Yay for that, and the promise ring! :D

But I'm nervous about the foreshadowing. I can only imagine how enraged Hank must be at being sent to jail because Buffy finally reported him. I'll do my best to get through the dark chapters *hugs*

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 08:40 am Title: Rocky Road to Recovery

She is so destroyed. I don't even know what to say in this situation except that Spike is doing the best thing, supporting, comforting and gently pushing her toward being free from this inner torture Hank has put on her. You have written this so good, I am proud. Awesome job portraying their feelings. I am going to bed now, 20 to 9 in the morning here and I haven't slept since the other night *yawns* will get back to this after.

Author's Response: I'm glad you were able to make it through the rough chapters and that you're still following this. I tried to make it is as real as possible, and that doesn't always mean happy. So thanks for reading and reviewing so much. :) I hope you enjoy the last 5 chapters. *blows kisses*

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 08:18 am Title: April Rain

Fuckin fuckin fuck... Hank walks but Faith and Percy die? Oh man, I hope they HAUNT his ass. He is a sick fuck.

I hope Spike can get in to see Buffy soon, she is hanging on by a thread. She needs him = (

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 08:02 am Title: Misery Business

Wow. I really really hate Hank. He is definitely a sick sadistic bastard. I hope he trips on his shotgun and gets shot in the face... asshole.

Man... that must be so hard to go through, I can't even imagine what they must be going through. Sad. At least they have each other.

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 07:38 am Title: Paradise Lost

OMG! Faith?! What is going on there?! Ahhhh!! I neeeeed to know what is going on in the next chapter, so quick review. I wonder how Hank and the other escapees got out, maybe it will be explained a bit? Either way, don't matter. I hope Buffy and Faith get through this alive! And Spike too!

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 07:23 am Title: I Wanna Grow Old With You

That was adorable. I love that they got engaged, its perfect. Good job!

Reviewer: xoChantelly Anonymous Date: 07/20/2009 - 07:15 am Title: Freedom at Her Fingertips

Ackk!! What does Hank have planned?! I'm soooo nervous for Buffy and Spike... It says character death and I'm dying to find out what happens... ohhhh man...

That look Hank gave her is like... god, I can only imagine *shudders*
