Hello, Nia.
I'm surprised that you were surprised by your nomination -- girl, you can write. You not only get the flow of the narrative well paced, you also know your English so there are no grammatical errors to distract the savvy reader.
Well done.

OMG! This is the best Spuffy story I have ever read! The characters and plot are amazing, and I absolutely love your writing style! Thanks for giving me such a great story to read! Now I'm sure I'll have trouble finding another one that's as good as this. :)

Title: Ever After
I tend to shy away from both baby fic and all-human, so I'm not certain what led me to click on this story, but I'm very glad I did. Rather than review each chapter, I thought I'd just leave a note at the end and touch on a few of the things I think were especially well done throughout.
Xander was well done. You focused on the canon-based protectiveness he has always shown toward Buffy, and even though he wasn't a major player in a lot of the story, when he appeared, his presence was felt.
I also liked your choice of Riley as the villain, rather than Angel, and I absolutely adored everything about Will and Drusilla's relationship and interactions, and the friendship of Will and Liam.
I really really like how, even though in this world there are no demons and no slayers, you've brought some of the elements of what make Buffy and Spike and BtVS unique and worked them seemlessly into this story.
1) The "normal life". In this case, it's Buffy's pregnancy that sets her apart from the others, rather than the title of slayer, but the effect is the same. No matter what, Buffy won't be having the life she might have wanted, or that her parents wanted for her.
2) The "wrong relationship". Not slayer/demon but teacher/student, both equally difficult to deal with for both parties involved, in both scenarios. This is a lot of what, I believe, draws people to Spike and Buffy, that relationship that is, despite everything that says it shouldn't be.
3) "The dance". In canon/canon-based fiction, it's partially the slayer-vampire dance, but also the way Spike and Buffy have the ability to work together, fluidly, naturally, and you noted this on several occasions in your story, in a way that works with the setting.
4) "The graveyard". A minor point in some ways, but I liked this homage to slayer and vampire, that the graveyard had much significance to their relationship.
5) "The visions". You didn't make her insane, but you still kept her Drusilla.
6) Giles. Dead-on in character, and though he doesn't have quite the same role in this world as he did in canon, his concern for Buffy's wellfare rang true. That he had been "watching" out for her, worried about her home situation since she came to Sunnydale - yep, classic Giles.
7) The names. Kathleen's middle name being Edith, the other daughter Darla, and I almost died when you came to the part with Clem and Kennedy. Maggie being Riley's mother - as noted in canon by Adam, that she was, in that setting, something like a mother to Riley. Lilah the lawyer, Tara the therapist - you brought in other characters in subtle ways and though they had little effect on the story in general - they could have been any names - it let us feel their presence while keeping the story tidy.
In general, it was a very realistic portrayal of some of the hardships Buffy would have to go through in this situation. You wrote the relationship between Will and Buffy beautifully.

I saw this story was finished and figured that you probably wouldn't want 36 reviews so I'm just leaving one big one.
Nia, I've read some of your stories and reviewed most - I'm sorry about whatever I didn't review. You are a great writer, so *please* keep going. If you evr need a beta and contact me it would be an honour. Sometimes these stories are what I look forward to at the end of a miserable day. If I'm reading a good fic, that week is a good one. Reading your stories gave me something *REALY* good to look forward to.

I really enjoyed the story. I'm glad they mostly kept things tame until she was 18. I really enjoye his character, but Buffy seemed a bit too weepy for me. It seemed to take away from the angst because just about everything made her teary - and even after she had the kids she was easy to tears. Oh well - still loved the story and thewriting. Great job - Thanks. I can't wait to read your next one....

Just wanted to say how much of a wonderful story this was, and how much I enjoyed it. Defiantly one of the best AU Human Spuffy fics I've read. I've read most of your fics on this site, and your a great writer. Love this whole story, how you potrayed Will and Buffy and Giles, and I loved Drusilla in this. I also thought the way you ended the story was perfect.

lovely and amazing :)
you're a wonderful writer. i especially like the way you draw your characters, they're very vivid portraits. you use little details like posture to carry a lot of nuanced information. i'm left thinking particularly of some of the secondary characters - even with relatively little 'screen time' you get across a rich sense of giles' kindness and strength, of xander's big heart and even riley's particular brand of blundering foolishness.
i'm sleepy now - i've been reading for hours straight - so i'm not being very coherent. but i just wanted to say your work is fantastic, you're fantastic and thank you.

i was waiting to finish to write a proper review, but i just had to let you know how much i'm enjoying this. i see what you mean about not being able to write fluff - you're too good to be able to write 2 dimensional characters that follow a simple plot line. i love the similarites with the 'real' buffy and spike that keep cropping up (like her desire to be normal). and the names of the dogs, squeee! those just rock beyond the telling of it. :)
thanks for this wonderful story. now i have to get back to it.
