I just discovered this story for the first time (probably because I generally avoid long-term WIPs since I know I'll be disappointed that they'll probably never be finished). It seems like you may not have returned to this site since 2007, but if you do still receive messages through here I (and I'm positive many others as well) would really love to see more of this story. I agree with Im_bloody_English that it, if completed, it could be one of the top stories here. Loved your other WIPs, as well. Wish you were still writing Spuffy! :( (If you are posting elsewhere I haven't found it.) Thanks

Hi there sweety... I've had a busy summer (hey, met JM for the first time at a con – woo hoo!) but am finally home after a long vacation (while in NY I had to deal with dialup internet, UGHH!) Anyways, in getting caught up with everything around me in the spuffy world and writing, I went over my list and found not only have you not updated lately but I forgot to leave you the review I promised. I am so sorry sweety, but here it is.
It was of course, a brilliant chapter and accurate depiction of the treatment towards woman for the times. Angleus... shudders - what a creep, but I love it. It adds to the rich fabric of your story.
On a different note, I hope this review/message find you well and just busy with RL stuff. I really want to see you continue with FOG - it's bloody brilliant so far and I’m not just saying that - I can see it taking it's place among the ranks here in the top ten. I know I'm a huge fan.

Very dark picture painted for us, delving deeper into Buffy's life. It just kills me how she takes everything, but she has no choice. The mind can cry out and the heart can break, but the tongue and the body must obey when you are considered a nothing. She risked a great deal by telling him she abhored his kisses. She has not even one friend in her miserable life, no one to turn to, no one to even listen, only despair. Very bleak indeed.

You have drawn a very bleak picture of Buffy's life - in fact the lives of certainly village women in general and as such, successfully set the scene for this abhorrent and routine existence to be changed, altered, upset - whatever - by Lord William Denver, a peer of the realm but a renegade at heart, no less.
Out of the frying pan .......

Loved it. I'm surprised my William's "hint" of pity/compassion for Buffy, however small it may be. I wonder what will change his mind about her and make him steal her away before the wedding? Maybe Liam will do something stupid and William does it to get revenge...or he could actually attracted to her despite the dirt and all. Anyway, great chapter and looking forward for more. :-D

Women were such chatal back then and usually not as important as livestock! We've come a long way baby!. I loved the chapter. It really clarified the relationship between Hank, Liam and Buffy. And I know William isn't done with our soon to be wedded couple. His wheels are turning and he'll ponder and such, but in the end, he'll get Buffy, if no other reason than to show Liam (and Hank) that he can.
Eventhough it's the way of the times, I still get riled up by Liams mistreatment of Buffy and I hope at some point he (and hank) will get their comupence!
I can't wait until William sees Buffy all cleaned up though, because I'm sure that will put a whole different twist on things.
More please.

I rarely post a second comment but first, let me apologize for the misspelling of Williams surname. For some reason I just can't attach Denver to the character. I keep thinking Devonshire, Devon for short. Anyway I'm sorry, next as I sat back and thought more about this chapter, it occured to me how cruelly women were treated then and throughout history but what really got to me was the fact that women are still treated like this in some cultures. Nothing more then possessions. It's a heartbreaking reminder of how far we have yet to go.

Whew! I thought Liam was going to rape her right there in the field with the warning you gave. So Liam thinks it would be so easy to kidnap Lord Devon. Guess Willy's demise hasn't dissuaded him. Great chapter, thanks.
