I love Spike's explanation of how it's gonna be. He always has to wear 'Love's Bitch' on his sleeve. It's how he's best.
Also, while I didn't review every chapter, I've been reading for more than 3 hours, my rear is asleep, and I'm sad that I have to walk away to go get food. So it's a good story.

Title: Chapter Eight
I find this chapter extraordinary because it really plays well with Spike now and Spike as he was. There's a contrast and ease that you make him fully aware of and able to play with, and that's new to me.
Consequently, loved that the council had his book.
Other things:
-Dinner scene had a lot of potential, really thought it should have been longer
-Loved his reaction to her asking about him being human
-I really would have liked to see him wear himself out. They used to go all night when he was a vamp, but he doesn't have the strength or stamina to keep up with Buffy anymore. I never really intend to write a Spike as human fic, so if you ever want to explore that, feel free. Anyway, it just seems like they're doing a lot of rolling in the sheets for a guy who's still recovering.

NICE - really enjoyed your treatment of Spike as a potential human - and while I like his being returned, I don't personally like all human Spike - it's like your Buffy said - she would not want to be a normal human after knowing the power of The Slayer - and I think Spike would also not really be totally satisfied as a normal human either.
Effective use from the series of Spike's love and devotion to Buffy and his fighting for his soul - your concept of connecting them through Buffy and using their past relationship as one of the foundations for their new life is a lovely and interesting.
Wish you would think about doing a piece about the new Slayers and how they could have mates and lovers also. With all the new Slayers now, it seems that they would need ways to bring love and equal partners into their lives as well. I think that this theme is perfect for the FF writers and one that would be very interesting and important to the development of the Slayers.

This was a great story - I loved reading about his doubts and the idea that he needed more convincing about her love. Acknowledging how Buffy would normally react and yet having her struggle through the changes in her internal dialogue to 'do things right this time' helped keep her in character and yet show how she has evolved. Thanks for the story!

Just have to say that this fic is AWESOME! I love that Spike became a slayer. It keeps the balance of power right for them. And human? Well, that only opens up the possibility of little Buffys and Spikes, now doesn't it? And they would just have to be slayer babies right from the beginning - what fun that would be! I can just see it - an infant giving Uncle Xander a black eye! :)
