Title: Epilogue
This was a really great read. It could use a thorough editing, as some parts are rife with grammar/vocab/punctuation/etc. errors, some repetitive phrases and other quirks which mar the flow at times. Some of the passages, however are really exceptionally well done (I forgive the occasional anachronistic language), the characters are spirited, fun and interesting, the smut is hot, and the love is sweet. I enjoyed this story from start to finish.

I loved the story. I was using it as bedtime reading at first then I couldn't resist but to read it all weekend long. Beautiful ending, enjoyable plot, and I loved the love scenes. Please write more stories because they are wonderful. Keep up the great work.

I just found this story and am in the middle, I was wondering Buffy said she used some kind of stone to shave her legs, what is that. I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything.

Wow, just wow!
Don't usually like the AU stories, hence how far behind the times I am with reading this, but thought I'd check it out cos well, all those nominations gotta mean something right? and I'm so glad I did.
You had me totally hooked from the very first chapter and I couldn't stop reading right to the end.
You're firmly on my must read list now!
Author's Response: MrsP, what a wonderful compliment and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read and review. This little tale was my first venture into the land of fanfic, but was not my last. I don't know if I will write anything as big as this again, but you just never know. I do hope you enjoy my other work, and that it suits you. Not all of it is AU, but there will be some in the future. Thank you again - you are my star

Title: Epilogue
I saw this when you first started posting the story, but I waited until you were finished. I have just read the entire thing and I have to say wow! I amlost stopped reading after you let William/Buffy fall in love. Liam/Dru were almost too much for me. I was afraid of nasty torture and pain for these two happy people. I stuck through and It was not as bad as I feared. I loved all the couples in this story because they were beautifully written. I love to read, I once told my husband reading is like breathing to me, I have to do it everyday. This is why I started reading fanfic, it is like free books, I love it. But if I am somewhere, where there is no computer, I read trashy historical romance. This was a beautiful combination of both. I want to encourage you to write more in this genre, because I for one would definately read. You also have intresting ideas for storylines so I will be reading more of your work as well as your future work.
Author's Response: Why thank you Kelly for you wonderful, encouraging words. This story took over my life, and was my first venture into fanfic land. I loved writing it, and to be honest with you, I don't think anything I write in the furture will be as dear to me as this story was. I researched and researched, and I had fun doing it too. I am glad you stuck with it after Spike and Buffy fell in love, as the fic had a story to tell. Thank you again for taking the time to read, review and for liking my tale. Glynis

I started to read your story while ago but It was rtealy long one. At one point it's realy dark I don't know if London citizents from that time were realy that cruel But I know that people like Angelus exist. I rely hope that no one will ever meet a person like that.Your story is realy great but the darkness is too much fo r me.
Author's Response: Hi Alien, I know the story is a bit dark, sweets, and I'm sorry it was a bit much. I did a lot of research for this fic, and believe me the type of things I describe really did go on. I'm sorry it was a bit much for you, but I hope you enjoy some of my other work instead. Thanks for being honest with my, honey, that really means a lot

Loved this story. Looking forward to reading more of your stories. I love how you ended the story with that part about Drusilla. Kinda creapy but cool.
Author's Response: Hi RB, Thanks for your review. Let's be honest here, babes, the whole story was kinda creepy at times. I just could not end it without a little bit about the evil bitch, could I.

Wow. What a story. I know very little of the time period, but you made me feel like I was there. You integrated the characters into the period so well. I enjoyed every minute of the story ( and there were many of them). Lots of suspense, lots of action, lots of smut. What more could a Spuffy fan ask for. Oh yes, Dru and Angelus get what's coming to them. Yay!
Author's Response: Thank you sweetheart. The story took over my life for so long I thought I would NEVER finish it. You have made my day

Title: Epilogue
Sorry to see this one end, happiness all around with eternal torment for Drusilla...very fitting!
I would have thought that the mesmerist would have been put into service to take away the memories from Dawn and Faith (make her think that her miscarriage was the result from being thrown from a horse or fall from the carriage). But them retaining their memories only serve to make them stronger and more guarded and appreciative of what they presently have.
Thanks for the wonderful story, I really enjoyed reading it from beginning to end.
Author's Response: No, Thank you Vette for your continued support and encouragement. I will be writing other fics based on times past, in fact there is one bubbling under the surface just now.

Title: Epilogue
Thank you for all the time and thought and effort that went into writing this epic story. I appreciated the effort you took to try to make it accurate to the time period and that definitely made it unique and interesting to read. I had some trouble following some of the abrupt plot twists that this story seemed to take on a number of occasions. There didn't seem to be enough connection to the characters inner dialogue to explain some of the drastic changes in plans or decisions they would make. One minute Angelous would say that he absolutely had to wait until after the wedding because he needed the money etc. . .then in the next chapter that rationale was quickly dismissed and it didn't matter if they were wed. The plan to keep Buffy a virgin seemed so important to them for so long then it suddenly didn't matter. Many of the main characters made statements or took stands on things that seemed determined and definitive and strong in one chapter, only to quickly change their stance dramatically in the next few chapters. In one chapter William is jealous and mad at Clem and the next thing you know it is forgotten. One minute Angelous needed Drusilla for her skills etc then he was killing her. I think plot twists are great and keep the story exciting and unexpected, but putting in more info to help the reader understand why the character changed their mind about something that seemed to important a minute ago, would help the characters be more credible.
Another thing to note is that, at the betrothal ball, Buffy insisted on going with William when he left to talk to Clem, so she was there. In the next section you said that William never told her what to place in the conversation he had with Clem that night. (a minor oversight - easy to fix).
I loved that you made Buffy a skilled sword fighter and had hoped she would get to take down Angelous. I also liked the role that Xander took on in this story. He was faithful and true and you incorporated some of his best qualities. I was also glad that you chose not to kill off Joyce in the story. Tying in Drusilla's gifts with the Mesmerism of the time was brilliant - a very nice touch.
Author's Response: Hi Sta, Thanks for taking the time to read my tale, and I thank you for thinking about what you read. I know it wasn't perfect and to be honest I would probably write the first 30 or so chapters again - but it is up in the fandom now and I will leave it alone. The reason Buffy wanted to stay a virgin, was in the time the story was set that was the only way to annul a marriage. The reason she gave in was simply that she fell in love and started to finally trust him. Once she was sure he would never turn to Drusilla, she was there for him. A lot of readers wondered why Angelus went for Dawn when he really wanted Buffy, but if you read the story I never say who Angelus wanted. As for his sudden change of heart regarding the money, he changed his mind when Drusilla was incarcerated. By then he had another source of income and he was then out for revenge. The killing of Drusilla was intended to display just how selfish and self-absorbed the man was. Once he was half way to Annandale, he did not need her - not with Penn waiting for him. I really do thank you for taking the time to read the story, and I am glad you appreciate the amount of research I put in.
