Author's Response: LOL! No, no corner! Between RL, biting off more than I can chew (writing two big stories at once), and my muse who has been very stingy=story not updated. I plan on finishing this tale. It may take a little longer, but it will be done!!!

Is there some way William can get the captain to marry them before they get off the boat? Especially with Elizabeth's possible "delicate condition." Don't know how the king will react, but can he really risk throwing a huge fit and exposing his less than honorable interest in Elizabeth? Might be more face-saving to just hold his tongue.

I didn't expect Elizabeth to sleep with Spike; even if they exchanged vows they are not married in the eyes of the law and Elizabeth could be pregnant now. But she knows that....
But I'm glad they made up again. And the chapter was hot. :)
They will be in trouble with the king anyway.

That was beautiful, and I don't doubt William's devotion for a moment or Elizabeth's, but I worry that some other misunderstanding will cause them problems. I hope she does get pregnant if for no other reason then William can reason that she can't be the king's mistress.

I'm giving Anne the benefit of the doubt and choosing to believe she set that up knowing it would push Elizabeth in William's direction. Very awesome of Elizabeth to spy on William, no way to ignore him in that situation. Can't wait to see where the kiss leads.

What excellent zingers to have from the ladies by Elizabeth's cut to her dad to Mrs. Summers letting the same man her husband know that her words came from her alone to the last zinger when Elizabeth told William that he was the king's whore. Excellently done in putting them in their place.

I love historical AUs and I'm digging this story! I wanted to yell at William for not explaining the situation to Elizabeth before Joyce did, but alas he didn't. Oh well, it was getting too easy for him. Now he'll have really prove himself worthy of her. Hopefully all that time alone while he escorts her will prove fruitful. He better work fast and hope Henry is reasonable to making Elizabeth his wife. Not likely which just means more trouble for them and more story for us. Perhaps even try to use marriage as a reason for Elizabeth to be with him, better marriage than mistress. Not that that would actually work in this time period, but I get the feeling William's going to get desperate pretty soon.

Okay, so it's not looking so good for Sir William, it would probably have been better coming from him. At least she was still trying to think well of him and defending him, hopefully that faith will pull them through!

Author's Response: This chapter was sad, but also empowering. I enjoyed writing Lady Summers as a strong woman. Prior, there were only glimpses of her strength, now it was full revealed.
