Screw happily ever after. That's not my problem. But the unrequited love part? Um, she did tell Spike that she loved him in Chosen. I'm thinking that didn't just come out of nowhere. She must have felt that way about him for some time. I'm guessing you don't believe her? Maybe I'm delusional, I don't know, but IMO canon Buffy showed way more feeling for Spike than your version of Buffy does in all of your fics combined. I wouldn't have have kept on shipping Spuffy if we didn't have moments like the door scene in DT or her running over to check on Spike's little boo-boo in First Date to let me know that yeah, she may not admit it, but she kind of has a "weird fixation" on him too. I think you're a decent writer, but I don't agree with your characterization. And that's what it boils down to. I know, I know, don't like it don't read it. So I'll stop talking so much shit. Sorry about that.
Author's Response: Where are you getting 'unrequited love' from? For this story? I think Buffy loved Spike, yeah, but that doesn't mean that anything post-Chosen/NFA there'd automatically be a relationship between the two. And maybe that makes ME delusional, thinking that they actually have to work through all their existential B.S. before becoming a couple, but that's just the crazy way I view things. Listen, I get that it boils down to character interpretation and your own preferences for a story that you want to read. That's completely cool. I just don't get how from one chapter (one that was pretty blatantly Buffy-sticking-up-for-Spike, meaning there's obvious vibes of a very requited-type love) that you'd jump to Bangel-esque conclusions.

Why even bother putting it here? it's probably going to end up more blatantly B/A shippery than S/B anyway. Spike of course will be pining away, while Buffy will ignore him and act like she couldn't care less about him. After reading some of your fics, it's pretty clear to me you're not really an S/B shipper, but a Spike in unrequited love with Buffy shipper. Always and forever.
Author's Response: Ah, well. I can pretty much guarantee that this story won't be 'blatantly B/A', because, while maybe all my fics aren't Happily-Ever-After for Spike/Buffy, that doesn't mean I'm gonna default it to Bangel.
And I like all versions of Spike/Buffy--including, yep, Spike and his unrequited love for Buffy.

So Buffy has this dreams and at last she spoke to Giles. I'm not sure if Andrew told him Spike was back.. if not then he wasn't lying. But he was against contacting Angel. I'm glad that Buffy trusted her dreams (of Spike) and will do it now on her own. ~ Good start! Looking forward to more :)
