Author's Response: Hey Buffyrat - It's so great to see you again! I updated on EF already! Here's the deal with feedback. It means everything. I used to hear about authors who stopped posting in places where they didn't get reviews and I didn't understand, but boy do I get it now. It's not that authors are angry or hurt that people don't review them. It's that lack of reviews tends to kill the muse. When a writer spends a lot of time creating something, they put it out there and they hear nothing in response, it's not "nothing" to a writer. It's more than nothing. It's like performing a play and at the end the audience doesn't clap or respond at all. The people on stage would feel a horrible and assume they'd done something very wrong. Writers are the same way. When people don't resond, they tend to stop writing. In order to keep the energy up and to keep writing, they need to hear a little something in response. I think this is why writers tend to post in places where they get feedback. It's not a "Screw you guys, I'm going home" kind of thing. It's a "Your silence is choking my story so I'm going to hang out where people feed my story instead." And THAT Buffyrat, is a long damn response that you didn't ask for! :) Happy Holidays to you!!
