My heart has shattered in pieces for 3 chapters. Life can be a bitch, as our girl said in chapter 1. And I wonder: is Spike dead or not? The way Buffy talks about him, well, at the beginning of the story, I thought he was dead. Same as the beginning of this chapter. But... The way she talks about it, it could be a way to talk about the death of their love, their relation. Big headache here. No need to say, like The Rasmus song "In the shadows", "I've been waiting", and I keep on waiting ;)

Oh god! He was on his way back!!! I'm totally crying my eyes out right now. This is such a powerful story, its just amazing. The song...perfect. I cant wait for more, i love this..thank you for writing this story, storys like this are why I read Spuffy fiction.

I don't care how good my imagination is not even I could imagine her doing a good job of that LOL! Well..I really DID cry toward the end of that chapter..I KNEW it was coming all along.....
One thing..Did Spike know that she had and abortion or not? I thought two chapters ago..Buffy had told Spike that "there was no more baby." I must have misunderstood..because in the last chapter, Buffy was talking as if he still thought she was pregnant. I am going to go back and do a little re-reading to see if I missed something.
Wow..I am suprised at Cecily's reaction to Buffy being there, and that Spike would want Buffy with him. It makes you just wonder.....What if....You know, maybe, just maybe, Cecily would have released Spike from his obligations. Of course with allowing him to have his son in his life. Guess we'll never know.. *sniff* *sniff*
I am sad..but wonderful update!

This chapter truly made me feel like crying, for me it was very powerful. Buffy is in SO much pain here. She did not want to have that abortion..or at least she must feel like she made the decision to have it for the wrong reason. I understand why Spike said the things that he did...I understand that he was very drunk at the time..and I even appreciate that he has come to his senses now.
But he screwed up. BIG TIME. His hurtful remarks have set off a chain reaction that caused Buffy to do something that will haunt her for the rest of her life. The decision to have or not to have their child should have been made together..with love between them. Spike should have been with her every step of the way. It's like what they had together is suddenly an ugly thing..no longer a beautiful memory. I can only guess that this realization that Buffy is now damaged is going to hit him VERY hard. He obviously loves her so much.
WOW..This story is so thought provoking..I am sure that there are many different opinions on the events here. That is a great thing though.. Good work!

God. After reading this chapter, I wished to hug Buffy and dry her tears. And I have like an idea it will get worse. With people judging her because of the abortion. Without knowing the whole story. Bunch of jerks. Hope she will know better days.

Uh-huh... now Buffy decided to tell Spike she is pregnant and he already found out by accident. Well Spike didn't came that first night (even if we don't know why). And now he told her through the song that they can never be together. That what I get from the song (I read your A/N.) And that he thinks Buffy betrayed him? Therefore she decided to get an abortion. Well I don't think it would have been my decision... but I'm not in Buffy's situation. If Spike died later I'm sure she'll regret it tenfold not to have his baby, a part of him. Yeah, she regrets it... She lost the baby and she lost him.

Spike doesen't have a leg to stand on in this situation. I could not believe he was like that to Buffy...she is so young and in-experianced with what is happening to her, what in the hell was she supposed to do? I hope he pulls his head out of his ass soon and sees what HE has done to her and them and their baby.

No, I donīt think, I will love him so soon again, Buffy said she was his and that she loves him, so where does he go off thinking she betrayed him? What an asshole. And that little baby..... He murdered her right along, itīs his fault, too.
I canīt imaging a couple coming back from that one, this is something that haunts you for the rest of your life, and also, if he tried to make it up to Buffy, she could never be sure it wasnīt out of guilt, his love for her wasnīt strong enough the first time around.
Iīm looking forward to how you entangle that web......

at first i thought that spike mistaked that the baby wasn't his and he thought buffy had cheated on him but he knows the baby is his and he's reacting like this??? BAD BAD SPIKE!!!! i feel sorry for the both of them though. I hope he makes things right between him and buffy. loved it. great job. please please post soon. it's about to get sad, isn't it???? ...........sighs....okay....BRING IT ON!!!

The song did seem to be spiteful toward Buffy...and though Spike didn't mean it that way..It seemed that Buffy's character might have taken it that way as well.
I did not understand why Spike would accuse Buffy of betraying him.. Was it because he thought she had lied about being on the pill, or was it because she had went to Jenny? I just want to be sure that I have it right..
I do understand Spike's anger at finding out from someone other than Buffy about the pregnancy..but not for avoiding him. What was she suppose to do? He was very much taken..It was a hopeless situation.
Can't wait for more..Great update!

You did pretty good for someone who has never been pregnant. I am bracing myself for what is coming next. I am guessing that it's NOT going to be fun for Buffy. I am really curious to how Spike is going to handle the baby news. Sounds like Jenny is pretty keen that Buffy should tell him.

I couldn't break up a family and cause distress like that. What family btw? Spike said he hadn't seen Cecily for 9 years... He needs to act to what he says. When he really loves Buffy "You mean the world to me." he has to do something. And yes, I mean breaking up the engagement. What kind of father had Spike been so far? This is so sad. I need something to cheer me up now.

Oh I hate Cecily right now; she had to give Buffy her left hand so that she could the the engagement ring? Bitch indeed. And Spike seems to have a thing for younger women. If I read correctly Cecily was 14 when Spike met her, even if he didn't know it. Still I wonder: If Spike had seen Cecily when he was 19 and he is 28 now, he hadn't seen her for 9 years. And about Buffy he says: I've fallen completely, insanely, head-over-heels, church bells ringing, dangerously in love with you." Still he did forget to break up the engagement. *sigh*

I'm with you on Spike not abandoning the fiance, but he seems to want his cake & to eat it, too. That would be great to have the best of both worlds, but it's not really fair to either woman. Looking forward to where this story is going!
