This is for sure one of my favorite spuffy fics. A+!
This is the kind of writing where you can have both the hot intensity of smut and the adorable face-squishing, squeaky-sound-inducing fluff. It's absolutely fantastic.

Lovely, happy ending. And I'm glad Liam and Faith made a go of it, too. Funny how it's so much easier to see it for what it is from the outside than when you're right in the middle. Thanks for this one. I'm so glad I finally came back to finish it.

Having seen that it was finished, I decided to just reread the whole story and THEN the final chapter. And I'm so glad I did. I'd been enjoying your story, but reading it in one go, I was reminded of how you carefully told the tale of Buffy and Will and how their relationship has evolved. It was so wonderfully done. And I love that they remained basically who they always were. No need to change Will's personality completely, but just adding another, more confident layer. I think that was probably my favorite touch, because so often, Will gets sacrificed for Spike in stories. I love your Will and I'm glad he stayed with us all the way through and I loved how Buffy protected and loved him back. So lovely. I always look forward to more from you.

I must say, this is one of my fav AU stories of the last couple of months. Great idea and definitely great way of writing. Keep up the good work. This was awesome and there's less and less good AU stories out there so thank you :)

I'm one of those readers who won't start a story until it is complete. I know how much reviews mean to the authors and how much the reviews that come throughout a story can feed the muse, so I will try to make up for it now.
I loved this story! I was late to work today trying to finish it and was reading it on the itty bitty screen on my phone as I walked into my work building. I just re-read the last chapter before starting this review because I loved it.
I noticed the summary with the very first chapter you posted and knew I wanted to read this story. I love Buffy/Spike (or William) friendship stories. They are the perfect vehicle for depicting Spike's wonderful unconditional devotion.
Every time you posted an update I would anxiously check to see if the story was completed. I was worried when you stopped updating for a while that you had lost interest in completing the story.
As far as Buffy/William friendship stories, you wonderfully avoided some of the pitfalls I have seen in other works. There were times in the past when I asked myself, "if they are such good friends and so perfect for each other, what is the problem?" and the author would create these oh-so-fake obstacles that were so unbelievable, or an author would have these supposedly-best friends not trusting each other at all. I recognize the challenge--that you have to have obstacles or else there is no conflict to resolve and no plot, and therefore, no story, but outrageously fake obstacles that are unbelievable or ridiculous levels of mistrust are hard for me to swallow.
You made your characters so believable! I totally bought William and his insecurities and his determination to go after Buffy no matter what. I totally understand how they mistrusted themselves--not each other--and that is what caused all the communication breakdowns.
On a side note, I loved your Liam. I don't hate Angel; he is just NOT Spike and I loved how you characterized him and used him in some ways to balance your story with humor.
With your basic premise, this so easily could have been a sappy, fluffy, sweet, but ultimately empty story. It absolutely was NOT. I hope you have more stories to share with the community. I know I appreciate all the authors who have shared their talent and provided me with many hours of enjoyment.
