Prologue - Girls Night Out
Cordelia: “Let’s go ladies! Don’t wanna be late now, do we?” she called up the stairs as she looked at her watch and then the times on the three tickets she was holding.
Willow: “How are we supposed to know whether or not we even want to go? You haven’t even told us where you’re taking us!” she called back down as she continued to apply her makeup. “But I’m praying for male strippers” she gave a cheeky grin to Buffy, who was brushing her teeth.
Buffy just smiled at her friend in a tooth-pasty smile. She didn’t really care where Cordy took them as long as it was far away from anything resembling school or work. She was really looking forward to a girl’s night out, it felt like ages since the three of them got together. But, a part of her was rather curious. And male strippers didn’t sound all that bad…
She spit and rinsed. “Can we at least have a clue, Cordy?” she said as she made her way across the hall to her room to retrieve her shoes.
Cordelia: “You do know the meaning of the word “surprise”?” she said looking at her watch. ‘We’re gonna miss the warm-up’ she pouted silently to herself.
Willow: “But there will be boys, right?” she asked chirpily as she hopped down the stairs barefoot.
Cordelia: “Of course there will be boys; I’m not sending us off to go live in a convent, Will”.
Buffy: “Well, as long as there are boys, this night can’t be too awful” she said as she followed Willow down the stairs.
Cordelia: “Thanks for having faith in me pal”.
Buffy: “Ugh! Can we please not mention that slut-bag’s name tonight”.
Cordelia: “Gladly” she noticed Willow sliding on her sandals “Will, you may wanna wear closed shoes so your toes don’t freeze”.
Willow: “Another clue! Are we gonna be outside?” she asked as she slid on her Uggs.
Cordelia: “Nope” she said with a popping noise. “Now, come on. We’re late as it is”. With that, the three girls got into Cordelia’s sports car and drove off.

I understand that's not a lot to go on. I'm gonna post the next chapter to get you guys started.
Chapter 1- First Sights
Buffy: “A hockey game? You brought us to a hockey game?” she asked in total disbelief.
Cordelia: “No, I brought you to the zoo” she said smiling to a group of men as they walked to their seats. They made various howling and barking noises at the three girls.
Buffy: “This place is certainly filled with animals” she said under her breathe as she smiled back.
Willow: “But a hockey game? Is that wise Cordelia? I mean, considering Angel is a hockey player…”
Buffy: “I though I said I didn’t want to hear his name tonight”. She said as she settled in the seat.
Cordelia: “No, that was Faith. You know, the sleezy-ho Angel slept with while he was still dating y-“
Buffy: “Okay! We all know the story of my horrible love life. No need to bring up my past on account of…well, me”.
Willow: “I still am not getting why we’re here instead of at oh, a male strip club”.
Cordelia: “Ladies, ladies. This is way better than any ordinary male strip club. Here we are; three gorgeous single college gals. And now before us sit an extremely large and good-looking group of sexy, sweaty and not to mention athletic babes. And on the plus side, sometimes there’s jerseys are lost when they get into fights. What could be better? And on the plus side, we are probably the only girls at this place. All eyes will be on us. I mean, sure the game will be a bore, but it will be totally worth it. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot, there’s this bar across the street where all the players hang out after the game. I’m thinking we came pick up some hotties. Sound good?” she asked with a devious grin.
Willow: “Well, if you put it that way” she said pulling her shirt lower to expose more cleavage.
Cordelia: “That’s the spirit. What about you Buffy? You in?”
Buffy: “I don’t know. I’m pretty sure that once you’ve dating a hockey player, you’ve dated them all”.
Willow: “Oh, please Buffy. You never went to one of the game when you were dating An- him”.
Buffy: “Yeah, well. Can you blame me? Its not like he ever took interest in anything I enjoyed doing”.
Cordelia: “Maybe you too just weren’t meant to be”.
Willow: “Oh, oh! They’re stretching” she cooed as the girls watched in appreciation.
------------
Xander: “Holy mother of God, there she is. I can’t believe it. Three games in a row. I wonder if she notices me” he said as he spotted his target in the stands.
Will: “Who?” he asked his best friend and he continued stretching.
Xander: “The most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life” he said dreamily.
Will: “Oh, yeah? The most beautiful? I’ll be the judge of that. Where is she?” he said finally looking up and scanning the crowd.
Xander: “Over there in section 118. She’s the brunette”. Will looked up to the section he was directed to.
Will: “Eh, nothing special” he replied until he caught the eye of the blonde to her left. Now she was something. Her hair playfully bounced on her shoulders and she talking to the girls she was with.
Xander: “Nothing special?!” he asked, flabbergasted.
Will: “She’s cute and all, but she just doesn’t do it for me. What do you think Oz, brunette in 118 tickle your fancy?”
Oz: “Not so much, but if I had a fancy to tickle, I’d certainly leave that up to the one on the right. She’s my type of beauty”.
Will: “She’s got a cute face too. So, Xander. What’s the deal with this chit? Not everyday you drool on the ice for a spectator”.
Xander: “I haven’t even met her. She was at the bar last night, having a chat with Riley, but I was too nervous to approach her”.
Will: “Well, maybe tonight’s the night. We’ll check it out and see if she’s there. Maybe Oz can go with ya and check out red while he’s at it”.
Oz: “What about the blonde? She’s not so bad herself, Will”.
‘No, she’s certainly not’ Will thought to himself.
---------
Willow: “Hey Cordy, that guy over there is checking you out” she smiled wildly. Cordy saw him and sighed.
Cordelia: “Xander Harris. Right wing. Be still my heart” she said with frustrated sarcasm.
Buffy: “Someone got a crush?”
Cordelia: “Well, he’s diffidently cute, but kinda dorky and really shy. Like last Saturday at the bar after the game, I could’ve sworn he was walking in my direction and then he scurried off to one of his buddies a second later”. She saw Willow watching Daniel Osborne and started dishing out the 411 on him.
Buffy was trying to listen to Cordy’s stories, but she lost herself throwing glances at the guy talking to Xander. He had bleached blonde hair which was quiet visible because he wasn’t wearing a helmet. Although very 80’s, it really stood out and didn’t look half bad. He was stunningly attractive compared to the rest of the men on the ice. There was just something about his body language…She was just dying to catch his eye to see their color.
-------------
Will “I guess” he lied “But I don’t think I’m ready to jump into the dating scene again. Especially after the whole fiasco with the trial…”
Xander: “No pressure dude. No man should have ever had to go through with that. I swear to God if I ever run into that bitch again, I’ll pop her one so fast it’ll make her head spin”.
Will: “’Preciate it, mate. Even if I wanted to date someone, I doubt I could find a chit who hasn’t been reading bout Dru and me in the papers for the past four months”.
Oz: “You never know, people may surprise ya. Hehe, don’t look now, but blondie is checking you out”. Spike’s head curiously shot to the blonde. Just as Oz said, she was diffidently checking him out; she even had this cute little smile on her face. Will couldn’t help it, he gave her a smug grin and even a little wink as the skated off the ice into the locker-room.
Even from where she was sitting, there was no mistaking it; blue. Her mystery man with bleached hair had piercing blue eyes. And God, were they gorgeous. Buffy almost melted when he winked at her. After Cordy was done babbling, she would need to be sure to get the background info on him. She found her own hazel eyes following his jersey-clad body as he disappeared to the locker-room.

Chapter 2- First Impressions
After a 20 minute wait, the players finally mounted the ice once again. The announcer asked that everyone in the arena would stand as the national anthem was performed. Buffy caught her mystery man’s eye just as she stood. She couldn’t wait anymore.
“Cordy” she whispered, but her friend was oblivious as the sound of The Star-Spangled Banner echoed through out the arena. So, she tried again “Cordelia” she whispered more harshly. Nevertheless, she didn’t flinch. With a sigh, Buffy waited until the song was over and the clapping faded to speak up.
“So, number 12 on our team. He’s pretty cute, huh?” she tried to sound as casual as she could.
“Diffidently not ugly” Willow agreed before zoning out into the game.
Cordelia scanned the bench until she saw him, and then made a sound of disgust. “I guess- if you’re into that sort of thing” she said.
That comment struck Buffy’s curiosity. “What do you mean?”
“You’re kidding me right? Buffy, that’s William Giles” Cordy said as if she should automatically know what she was talking about.
“And I should know this because…”
“Buffy! Have you been living in a cardboard box? William Giles has only been the top headline of every gossip magazine and new coverage for like, four months now!”
“Why?”
Cordy gave a dramatic sighed. “You know who Dru Wellington is, right?”
“Yeah, she’s an actress right? Black hair, kinda got a gothic look working for her?”
“That’s the one. Well, number 12 over there is her ex” Cordy explained.
“They went out?” she asked, suddenly intrigued although she tried to play it off like she was just making small talk.
“Only for like, six years”.
“Wow, serious” Buffy seemed impressed. Not many couples lasted that long, none that she’d ever have, atleast.
“At least they were until four months ago”.
“He dumped her?”
“As if. Dru dropped his ass on the street where he belongs”.
“Why did they break up?” She wasn’t sure if she liked where this conversation was going....
“Dru filed charges against him. Scum-bag deserves to go to jail”.
“For?”
“Domestic abuse”.
Buffy shook her head. “What a creep” she said to Cordy.
“Tell me about it. All this violence must have gone to his head” she said as they watched one player check another one into the side of the rink. “Poor Dru, she’s gonna take a major beating for this when it comes to her career- not pun intended”.
“If he was charged for domestic violence, why is he still playing professional hockey? And why isn’t he behind bars?”
“He’s got a load of money. I bet he paid off the jury people. As for the coach, bet all the press has done wonders for the teams. You know- lots of media attention and all. What’s that phrase, ‘any publicity is good publicity’?”
‘Oh, great’ Buffy groaned to herself. She was making oogle eyes at a guy who beat up his girlfriend. That would go over well in her family. ‘Hi, this is my gorgeous boyfriend. Did I mention he abused his old girlfriend so bad she had to file charges? Yup! Restraining orders and all! Some say her acting career is ruined.’ Buffy groaned as she thought to herself ‘You really know how to pick ‘im Buff”.

Chapter 3- Ice Breakers
After the game, the girls made there way to the bar across the street. Once they realized it would take some time for the players to arrive, Buffy, Willow and Cordelia decided to order diner. Just as they were finishing, a group of well-dressed men entered the bar.
Cordelia: “Okay, you guys ready?”
Buffy: “Ready? What are we getting ready for?”
Willow: “To pick up some hotties” she sung-song.
Before Buffy knew what happened, her friends began dragging her from table to table, introducing each other to the various players. She had to admit, there were some really cute guys there. She probably could have gotten one of them to go home with her, considering the amounts of phone numbers and date offers she got. But she didn’t accept anyone person’s offer in particular. She just wasn’t sure she could jump into the dating scene again. She was about to excuse herself from the table they were at, until Cordy spotted Xander and Oz.
Cordelia: “Oh, Willow! Now’s our chance, they’re alone”.
Willow: “Are you coming Buffy?”
Just as Buffy was about to reply, Willow grabbed her arm and dragged her to the table where Ox and Xander were sitting.
The two of them seemed like nice enough guys for her friends, Buffy thought it was adorable the way Xander blushed everytime Cordy mentioned how well he played. They seemed so cute together, although it took forever for Xander to ask her out. He was very insecure at first, but had a great sense of humor after the ice was broken.
Oz was rather passive. He was genuinely a nice guy, but he lacked in a wide range of emotions. Buffy wasn’t sure if Oz and Willow would be able to have a real relationship. He was very quiet and Willow, well, wasn’t. She was boisterous and very outgoing. Buffy loved her for it, but she didn’t know if Oz would be able to handle her personality.
But after a little while, it became obvious that Buffy was wrong. Oz and Willow seemed to have more in common that she thought. Starting to feel like an outside, she slipped away and headed to the bar. She hated that her friends met people while her love life was still in the dumps. She plopped down on a stool and ordered a glass of water. She may have been 21, but she still didn’t like to drink. Especially after remembering how he used to get…
OS: “I sure hope you don’t plan on driving home tonight” a British voice came from behind her before settling on the stool next to her.
Buffy smiled at the joke and turned to see who had said it. When she saw who it was, her smile faded. Those damn blue eyes she had seen before greeted her along with too smug a smirk.
“I’m William, or just Will”.
“Buffy” she said coolly.
“Cute. Is that your real name?”
“Isn’t William yours?”
“Yeah, but "Buffy" sounded like a stupid nick-name you get growing up”.
“Well, what kinda nick-names do you have, William?” she said in an defensive manner.
“Well, my old friends used to know me as Spike, but not even my chums now know that”.
Buffy turned to look at him, before having a flashback:
[...She was in the kitchen of their run-down apartment cooking him diner. Angel, or Liam, was sitting on the recliner, beer bottle in hand, with many empty bottles scattered by his chair. The only light on was the light coming from the TV. It was during the time after he had gotten injured during a game and spent the next three weeks on that damn chair getting piss drunk. She hated it when he was drunk. He was always so…. “He shoots He scores!” the announcer shouted.
“Damnit Spike!” he yelled, throwing an empty beer bottle at the television, smashing it into a thousand pieces, making Buffy jump out of her skin.]
“Spike” she said more to herself than him “My real name is Elizabeth. My friends call me Buffy” she snipped.
“I don’t want to jump the gun luv, but I can’t help but feel like I’ve offended you and all I’ve said is my name. Was it my imagination, or where you the chit giving me the eye not a few hours ago?”
“I don’t know what a chit is, but I don’t think I am one. Two, maybe I was”.
“Why are you being so shirty then?”
“I don’t know what that means either”.
“It means, why are you giving me the cold shoulder?”
“I admit, when I first saw you, I thought you were cute and everything, but…”
“But…”
“I heard some things and changed my mind about you” she finished quickly.
“Lots of rumors floating around lately. What sort of things did you hear?”
“That domestic violence was a very prominent aspect in your home”.
Spike paused as if to think. “Well, that is actually true, in more ways that one” he said calmly.
“Then why in God’s name would I want to be in a pub talking to a man who hit his girlfriend?”
“That’s a fair point, pet” he tossed a small rolled amount of money “Only there’s one problem” he got up and headed to the door.
“Oh, and what’s that?” she questioned.
“I wasn’t the one throwing the punches.” he said quietly with his back to her before leaving.

Chapter 4- The Truth
Stupid, stupid, stupid. God! It was official: Buffy Summers was the stupidest person alive. How could she just assume like that? And poor Will, God, she was so stupid; she felt sick to her stomach. As disgusted as she was with herself, she knew she couldn’t let Will leave like that. She got up and ran after him.
“Will!” she called as she saw him about to get into his limo. It was raining hard, but Buffy was too upset to care. “Wait, I’m...sorry” she said lamely.
He sighed and turned around. “S’not like you’re the first one to make the mistake, pet. Don’t let it keep you up at night” he turned to get into his car again.
“Please Will. Let me make this up to you somehow. I feel so terrible”. She was begging now, he couldn’t leave. She wouldn’t let him leave.
Will sighed. This chit wouldn’t give up anytime soon. She didn’t seem honestly sorry; and he knew she wasn’t gonna give up anytime soon. What’s the worst that could happen? You could fall for her and watch her break your heart. Even so, this bird seemed worth it.
“Get in” he said as he got in and moved over.
“What?”
“You’re drenched to the bone, get in before you catch a cold and I’ll give you a ride home”.
“Okay” she replied quietly and she slid in.
-------------------
In the limo
“You should tell the driver where you live”
“Huh?”
“So he can drop you off”.
“I should actually call my friends…”
“They’re fine. You left them with Oz and Xander. Got nothing to worry about”.
“Oh, okay” she moved to the window to tell the driver her address. When she came back she began to shiver as the dampness of her skin finally hit her.
“Don’t you have a coat or something?”
“I left it at the bar. I was kinda in a hurry”.
“You want a sweatshirt or something?”
“Wouldn’t exactly turn one down about now”.
Will dug threw a duffle bag by their feet and retrieved a black sweatshirt before handing it to her.
Buffy gratefully took it and pulled it over her head, trying not to inhale the masculine scent which overcame her senses. God he smells good.
“You didn’t have to run after me, you know”.
“No, I did. I can’t explain why, but I did”.
Silence
“You’re mates seemed to really hit it off with mine, eh?”
“Mates? Willow and Cordy are my friends but we’ve never mated. We aren’t mates, just good friends. I’m straight. Not that they’res anything wrong with being gay-“
He chuckled, “Mates are friends, pet”.
“Oh” she said quietly as she tried to hide her embarrassment.
Spike laughed again.
“Are you laughing at me? It’s not my fault I can’t understand what you’re saying”.
“I know. It’s just, kind of sweet”.
“Can I ask you something?” she pried.
“Does it have to do with what we talked about at the bar”
“Maybe”.
Will was quiet for a moment. The only people who knew the truth was him, Dru, Xander, Oz and his little sister Anya. He never wanted to take about it, but for some reason the words just fell out of his mouth:
“Yeah, sure”.
“How long…did she-“
“You aren’t some undercover National Enqirior reporter, are you?”
“No, I promise. It won’t leave the limo”.
“I don’t really remember when it started. I guess around three years ago”.
“Three? Years?” she was shocked.
“It was never that bad though. She had problems and she’d take them out on me”.
“Why didn’t you stop her?” she asked.
“What, you mean like hit her back?” he sounded shocked at the thought.
“Self-defense-“ Buffy tried to defend her suggestion.
Will: “I don’t hurt women” he said in such a stern voice that it almost brought tears to her eyes. She knew some men get beat up by their wives or girlfriends, but she always thought they were just the wimpy kind who liked to get thrown around. But this was different. Will just seemed so different from what she thought. He was different from anyone she’d ever met.
“I still don’t understand. You could have just left. Why didn’t you leave her?”
“Why does anyone stay in an abusive relationship? Because of that pesky thing called love”.
“Hurting someone isn’t love” Angel taught her that.
“Wasn’t talking about her, though I still like to believe she loved me. No, I was talking about me. I loved her more than anything. Still do. Don’t think I’ll ever stop”.
“I know what that’s like, I think” she tried really hard to think if she ever really loved Angel. Truth was she did, for a little while anyways. But after that night she found him with Faith, it killed her. And that was before she knew about the others. She paused to think about what to say next. It must hurt to talk about, but she loved his voice and never wanted him to stop speaking. “There was someone” she briefly looked at. “I loved him...I loved him so much. Even now that he’s not in my life anymore, I still feel like-“
“He owns your heart and soul?” he snuffed. “Tell me about it. Dru and I, our souls were practically bound together. Eternal love she called it, feels like so long ago”.
“How did the cat get out of the bag then? If you loved her that much”
“Xander and Oz figured it out. It took them a while, but they called me on it one day. I went home after practice and the next day I showed up with a black eye. They knew Dru had some physcological problems. They pieced in the puzzle”.
“But somehow the story changes and you’re the one being blamed”.
Spike: “Dru’s got money and she’s known as to the media as “The Dark Princess with a Bright Heart”, don’t think they would have bought it the other way around anyways. Rumor started out one way and by the time it got to the press, Will Giles is the Big-Bad.The charges against her were dropped. Basically because I couldn’t testify against her. I’m such a wimp”.
Buffy: “You loved her. That’s nothing to be ashamed of” she placed a hand on his thigh.

Chapter 5- Relationships
Both began to feel uncomfortable and Buffy pulled away.
“You know, I usually don’t blab my whole life to a total stranger. Traditionally its dinner and a movie that come first. Then the heart-wrenching relationship blues”.
“Followed by childhood tramas?”
“That about sums it up, pet”.
“I was never one for tradition anyways. But your whole life? I know there’s more about you that I don’t know about. I mean, unless you don’t want to tell me which is understandable because it’s private and I’m rambling, please stop me before I say something I reget”.
“Take a breather luv. Yeah, I’ll tell you another tale, but not before you do”.
“You wanna hear about the failure that is my love life?”
“Can’t be worse than mine. And yeah”.
“Okay, but only cause you asked. I dated a guy and we broke up”.
“You’re kidding, right?”
“There’s not much else to say”.
“Who was this bloke?”
“Angel...o. Angelo”.
“Angelo?”
“Ah, yeah. Angelo. He was the bloke. The bloke was he”.
“So, why’d you break up?”
“He cheated on me” she said quietly.
“Well, don’t be all broody about it. Everyone gets cheated on in atleast one relationship”.
“Who was yours?”
“Cecily”.
“She a bitch?”
“Oh, the bitchiest. But the guy she cheated on me with, cheated on her a week later”.
“Karma is a beautiful thing”.
“That it is, kitten”.
Buffy shivered at his nick-name and wraped her arms around her body, “I really am sorry about what I said earlier”.
“And I was serious when I told you not to fret bout it. Never very much cared what people thought of me anyhow”.
“Except for Dru?” it was more of a statement than a question.
“Except for Dru” he confirmed before the limo fell silent for a few minutes until it finally came to a stop”.
“We’re here”.
“Huh?”
“You’re place”.
“Oh, yeah. Guess we are”. Spike noticed Buffy’s hesitation.
“Something wrong, pet?”
“Actually, I was kinda waiting for you to ask for my number or something” she said with a small laugh, feeling awkward. Suddenly, she was hit with embarrasment when Spike didn’t response. “I was just kiddings. Dumb idea. Thanks for the ride. And, have a good lif-“ she stopped scooching across the seat, mid-sentence...s.
“Its not that I don’t think you’re a great girl, I do”.
“But?”
“Its just, my life is in a bit of a tumble right now and I don’t want anyone else having to get mixed into it”.
“I don’t mind a little drama with my man” she tried to lighten the mood.
“Maybe, I don’t know, in a few more months, this thing with Dru may just blow over and go back to normal. I just don’t think I could be in any sort of relationship right now”.
“I understand” she tried to say with conviction.
“Well, goodnight” he gave her a peak on the cheek before she exited the limo.
Buffy walked to the door of her house as the limo buzzed away. She opened the door to spot her two friends on the couch, watching television.
Chapter 6- Girl Talks
“Buffy there you are. Where the hell did you go? We were worried sick!” Cordy asked with her eyes glued to the screen.
Buffy rolled her eyes as she dropped her bag to the floor and kicked off her shoes.
“Riigghhttt. You guys look really concerned, you know, in between the handfulls of popcorn and taking turns getting a beer from the kitchen” she replied as she walked into the room and plopped down on the couch in between her friends.
“Knew there was a reason you go to Harvard” Willow quircked.
“Yeah? And how you and Cordy got into B.U. is beyond me” she said back as she dug into the bowl of popcorn
resting on her friend's lap.
“Hey! My daddy had nothing to do with that, if that what you think” Cordy defended.
“Oh God, Cordy! Don’t give us the “I have layers” speech. We all know that you’re much smarter than you look” Willow said.
“Thank-you!” she smiled triumphantly “...hey, wait a minute!”
Buffy and Willow both shared a laugh.
“But really, Buffy. Where did you go?” the red-head asked.
“Yeah, we saw you talking to William Giles one minute, the next minute we turn around and you’re no where to be seen” Cordy commented calmly.
“That’s it? What about ‘that scum-bag’ as you refered to him earlier?” she asked, suddenly very defensive.
“We know the truth about him Buff” Willow said.
“Okay, but how?” she asked skeptically.
“I was about to pull him away from you the second I saw him approach you, but Xander stops me and told me not to worry, and that William is a good guy” Cordy replied.
“But when you say the truth....”
“They didn’t tell us any details, just that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding” Willow said.
“We just didn’t get why it was going on if it wasn’t the truth” Cordy pried.
“I promised Will I wouldn’t tell. Just believe when I say he’s a really nice guy and completely innocent”.
“Can we talk about Oz now?” Willow asked excitedly.
“Yes, talk away” she encouraged
“Oz. Its short of Osbourne. That’s his last name. He’s so cool Buffy! Kinda low key, but his is such a babe. The whole ‘cool guy’ vibe he gives off is so...cool. And he plays the guitar! How hot is that? Apparently, him, Will and Xander are all in a band together but have been on remission ever since the whole trial thing started”.
“Who are you and what have you done with my best friend who has never ever been smitten with an average joe?” Buffy said kiddingly.
“But he isn’t average. And I am not smitten...he’s just so!” sigh.
“Okay, that’s enough weird for tonight. Cordy, how was Xander? Everything you expected and more?”
“I think he is. I mean, he does kinda have this dorky persona about him. And I’ve never been attracted to that, but I really think I do like him”.
“That’s great Cordy. I’m really happy for you, both of you. I assume you both got phone numbers too?”
Cordy and Willow, as if synchronized, both held up little white pieces of paper.
Buffy laughed.
“But about you, Buff?”
“Will doesn’t want me to get caught up in all the drama and media he’s going through right now. I think its sweet and all of him, but I hate when guys always think they know whats best for me”.
“So what are you going to do about that?”
“Your dad gets season tickets right, Cordy?”
“Yeah...”
“Well, my mother always taught me that if at first you don’t succeed-“
“Try, try again?” Willow offered.
“Damn, I was gonna say, “stalk the hottie”, but I guess that works too” she said with a smile.

Pulling Strings Here and There by Bonks
Chapter 7: Pulling Strings Here and There
After making some extensive phone calls to Cordy’s dad, Buffy was finally able to snatch tickets for the Bruin’s next home game.
“Thanks again for the tickets, Mr. Chase” she said into the receiver.
“Of course, Betty. Those would have just gone to waste anyways, I’m glad Cordy finally found a friend to take the rest of this seasons tickets off my hands. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, it’s just very rare I am able to attend them. Are you a big hockey fan?”
“Uhh, well hockey is okay, I guess. I mean the net is really small and the puck is oddly shaped...”
“But girl a girl your age would rather be watching a certain player, or several, instead of the actual game. Am I right Betty?”
“Well actually it’s Buff-“
“You don’t need to make excuses Betty. I fully support reproduction system of the human race and any necessary steps it takes to get there. What you do is none of my business. However, I will see to it that your tickets are to you liking. Have fun Friday night”.
“Uhh, thanks Mr Chase. I’ll get right on that reproductive thing”.
“No, Betty, thank you. Thank you”.
Buffy hung up the phone. ‘What a wierdo’ she thought as she put the phone back in its holder. Oh well, at least she got the tickets, getting her that much closer to Will. He would learn once and for all that Elizabeth Summers doesn’t take no for an answer...at least, not always?
Mr. Chase, laughing to himself, hung up and then began to dial a different number.
“Chaz? It’s Stuart Chase. Good and you....yes, yes all is fine....listen I wanted to talk to you about that contest that you hold once a month at the arena. You know the one....yes, yes, that’s the one. See, My daughter’s friend....I don’t even have to explain it to you...I know Harmony is turning into a bright young woman, Chaz....So, you think you can pull some strings?....Oh, umm... just give me a second her...ahh, here it is: Section 118, Row 6, Seats 9, 10, and 11....yeah, just pick one, it shouldn’t matter....great, great...thanks again...I’ll talk to you later then...take care...buh-bye”.
