little over a year ago I had my tonsils out. It was during my recovery I got emceed into Buffy, on netflix, once again. I found fan fiction shortly there after, no I really didn't know there was such a thing until then...shocking but true! Reading fan fiction opened up a whole new world to me. You see, I'm dyslexic and most books are very hard for me to read and 20+ years ago when I was in school...they didn't have the tools that they have today for people that have a learning disability. Years ago when I first started using a computer a computer regularly I found that using the comic sans font and enlarging it to 12-14 makes the letters clear enough not only for me to read but to read quickly. Over the years I had been trained to read and re-read to be able to process the information so I was reading twice the amount to understand just one word or sight word. Now I read and read lot...as long as I have the ability to copy and paste so I can change the font. If I really enjoyed a story I'll save it as a pdf file so I can re-read. I started reading fan fiction on FanFic.net but found that other sites such as Elysian Fields, Bloodshedverse and Spuffy Realm have formats that are more suitable to my copy/paste reading style.

At one point I had written a few Buffy stories after getting inspired by all that I have read. I quickly found that I stink...yeah thats right I stink. Just calling it how it is...I tried...I used to write to relax and still do sometimes but now nine times outta ten I read. Why? Because now I can without headaches and frustration that had been common place when I was reading your standard copy book.

So this is my little thank you to all those that take the time to write. Knowing that writing as much fun and addicting it can be wasn't my cuppa I started to look and see if there was a something else that I could do within the fandom that would give something back because it had given me much that I felt like I wanted to do something to contribute. I'm still working on that part...
