Balula, I'm not exactly certain why you seem to think that this fic is far too long; to my eyes it has evolved in the most natural, fluid progression as possible, a progression that should be the envy of many other authors. Niamh has managed to take us from the period just following Buffy's death to now, through all of the changes and upheavals faced by the verse characters in both Sunndydale and LA, and all without it once seeming forced or rushed. The story is organic and credible, remarkable for its nuance and sensitive characterizations, and I for one hope that it continues far into the future. But then again, I also have the common decency to admire, or at the very least respect, the author's artistic vision. There are no shortage of ficlets here at the Realm...perhaps one of those would be a better use of your time than the pointless and uneducated flaming of gifted authors generous enough to share their visions with the rest of us.

OK...so I'm all caught up...and I'm so completely hooked! I'd read different chaps here and there, but I did the whole thing in one setting today and it's amazing! I'm loving Spike and Dawn; the interactions are spot-on, and the support they give each other is very much like what I'd wished would've been allowed to continue. And ah, Angel... Buffy's completely right about him and them, and that he can't see it just goes to show how completely self-unknowing he's always been. Especially with not seeing Cordy right in front of him for years. But at least he had enough sense to bring Spike along, although I'm hoping Spike gets to gut him soon. The Scoobies... well, what can be said? They are as they always were: dense, blind to everything other than their own foregone conclusions, and above all certain that only they know what's best for Buffy. I'm looking forward to that showdown. And Melinda is excellent...and I loved the deal with the Elvis tickets. Hee! So you've hooked me but good...it's delicious!

Absolutely beautiful... a definite tearjerker, but an exquisite picture of Spike's love for Buffy and their last day together.
