Angel moves to L.A., unaware of his purpose in the City of Angels. There, he meets Doyle, his half-man, half-demon spiritual advisor, who gives him much-needed direction. Doyle leads Angel to Russell Winters, a rich and powerful vampire, preying on aspiring actresses. When Winters sets his eyes on Cordelia, Angel springs into action and saves her.

Lonely Hearts
Doyle receives a new vision that sends the group to the club scene. They soon learn they are looking for a serial killer who seeks his prey from D'Oblique, a chi-chi singles bar. While perusing the crowd, Angel meets Kate, an L.A. police detective and D'Oblique regular. Though they initially bond, Angel is pre-occupied by his mission and devotes his efforts to pursuing the killer
Episode 2

In The Dark
Oz pays a visit to Angel and gives him the Gem of Amarra, the vampire's holy grail that grants eternal protection. Doyle wants Angel to wear it with pride, but Angel opts to play it safe and hides it in the underground tunnels. He is soon kidnapped by Spike and tortured by a child-eating vampire named Marcus. While Angel is enduring the torture, Cordelia and Doyle must conspire Angel's rescue.

I Fall To Pieces
As Cordelia and Angel continue the debate of whether or not to charge for their services, Doyle receives a vision of yet another woman in distress. Angel pays a visit to her workplace and learns that the woman, Melissa, is being stalked and terrorized by her neurosurgeon, who is somehow mysteriously able to watch her every move.

Rm w/a Vu
Cordelia Chase lives in the projects, and she's not happy about it. When she returns one evening to her roach-infested digs, she decides that desperate times calls for desperate measures and moves into Angel's apartment. Angel, not thrilled by his new roommate situation, makes a pact with Doyle, if Doyle can find Cordelia new digs, Angel will help him out with his debt negotiations and the demon who's trying to collect. Doyle holds up his end of the bargain and finds a stunningly beautiful one-bedroom apartment. At first, Cordy's on top of the world, but she soon gets the willies
Episode 5

Sense and Sensitivity
Kate, hardened by years of police work, enrols in sensitivity training with her fellow police officers. At first the training appears to be innocuous, but Angel and others begin to notice her excessive emotions. It becomes especially obvious when she pours her heart out at her father's retirement party. Then, the entire police station goes awry. Angel and Doyle figure out that Kate is in danger because of a recent arrest.
Episode 6

The Bachelor Party
Just as Doyle is inches away from finally making a connection with Cordelia, his estranged wife shows up at Angel Investigations begging for a divorce so she can marry the new love of her life. After the initial shock of it all, Doyle agrees to consent to the divorce. Angel discovers that the fiancé comes from a long line of pacifist demons. After Doyle consents to the divorce, the fiancé invites Doyle to join his bachelor party.
Episode 7

I Will Remember You
Buffy pays a visit to Los Angeles and expresses her displeasure. As they are about to part their separate ways, a medieval demon charges into Angel's office and a violent brawl ensues. The demon escapes, and Buffy and Angel decide to pursue it, splitting up during the hunt. When Angel finds the demon and kills him, its blood accidentally mingles his own blood, and suddenly Angel finds that he is breathing, living creature again.
Episode 8

Hero
Angel and Doyle find a group of half-breed demons and learn a racist demon group called The Scourge are in town, and out for the impure demons' half-blood. They conspire to rescue the immigrants. But Angel goes undercover for the Scourge and discovers that the Scourge's have a machine to eliminate the half-breed population.
Episode 9

Parting Gifts
A smarmy telepathic demon named Barney approaches Angel Investigations for help, claiming that he is being followed by a demon-assassin. Cordelia and receives a vision and realizes there was more to Doyle's kiss than she originally thought Angel visits Barney?s apartment and encounters Buffy?s ex Watcher, Wesley Wyndham Pryce.

Somnambulist
When a serial killer stalks the Los Angeles streets, Wesley recognizes the chillingy familiar religious markings from Angelus' killing spree in the 1700s, and Angel must face the possibility that he is committing the murders in his sleap.

Expecting
Cordelia prepares for a night on the town with William Christopher, a prominent Los Angeles photographer. Cordelia chats it up with William and invites him to spend the night. The next morning, she realizes she's expecting! Angel and Wesley pay a visit to her apartment and observe her in pregnant state.

I've Got You Under My Skin
Cordelia receives a vision about a young family. When Angel and Wesley visit the residence, they notice a boy walking into the street. Angel saves the boy, named Ryan, from an ongoing car. Wesley takes a look around and deduces one of the members of the family is possessed by a demon.

The Prodigal
Angel is haunted by images of his past as a young man in 1753 Ireland, his overbearing father, his vampire birth by past lover, Darla and his family' murder by his own hand, when Angel spots Kate's father by a crime scene, his investigations may change kate's live forever.

A client and his supposedly missing brother trick Angel into competing in gladiatorial games that involve enslaved demons and are staged for wealthy wagerers. To stay alive, Angel must kill his opponent. Tp earn his freedom, he must kill 21 demons.

Angel rescues a popular young actress from a stalker, but when he finds himself taken with her and confesses his true identity, she goes to drastic measures to secure eternal youth and beauty.

Five By Five

Angel's live is on the line when the attorneys at Wolfram & Hart hire Los Angeles visitor Faith ( Buffy the Vampire Slayer) to put him out of business - permanently. In the meanwhile, Wesley, who still feels responsibily to Faith from being her former Watcher, declares he will stop her from bringing harm until he ,and Angel, determine she needs more than a just swift kick to snap out of her evil ways.

Sanctuary
Buffy comes to Los Angeles seeking vengeance under the guise of protecting Angel from Faith?s violent nature, but Buffy is shocked and hurt to discover her former love siding with her nemesis as he attempts to shelter her. Meanwhile, is faced with a crisis of loyalties when the Watcher's Council offers a chance at reinstatement if he gives up Faith.

War Zone
Angel tracks down a nerdy millionaire's blackmailer, but gets caught in the middle of a gang war between street kids and vampires and meets the leader of the vampire hunters, Charles Gunn. Although Gunn is suspicious of Angel, he soon realizes he may be a valuable ally in the cleaning up of the City of Angels.

Angel agrees to help Lindsey McDonald crack the secret files of Wolfram & Hart to save a group of childeren from a dominic assassin, Ultimately, Lindsey isn' guite sure if he can stick by his decision to betray the firm and sabotage the deadly mission.

While Angel and his friends work to decipher the scroll taken from Wolfram & Hart, the crooked law firm begins the process of "raising," which purportedly brings forth a great evil in the world.
