Alexis Denisof
Wesley Wyndham-Pryce

Character History

Wesley Wyndham-Pryce was first introduced in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Bad Girls." Portrayed by actor Alexis Denisof, the pompous watcher was assigned to take over for Giles after he was fired from the Watcher's Council. Few respected or liked Wesley, most especially the two Slayers he was responsible for. For good reason too, the character was constantly complaining, unable to fight for himself and unable to handle many situations on his own. He did however find an adoring fan in the then-high school student, Cordelia Chase.

After Buffy quit working for the Watcher's Council, and Faith found herself more comfortable on the dark side, Wesley found himself at a complete loss of control. He did help Buffy save Sunnydale from the Mayor's ascension, but after one hit in the big finale fight, Wesley was carried off to an ambulance in the episode "Graduation Day, Part 2." Never thought to be seen again, Wesley reappeared in L.A., on the Angel series as a rogue demon hunter.

Wesley grew from his stuffy watcher attitude into an admirable member of Angel Investigations. He constantly contributes research, fighting, support and through some of the second season, leadership. After Angel fired his friends at a time of desperation, Wesley took over as boss for the crew, continuing the business even in Angel's absence. Although the job isn't always wanted, Wesley has never backed down when his services were needed. He even earned painful wounds, physical and emotional through the troubling struggle of the second season.
