I'm not saying I agree with the producers decision to kill Doyle but the way it was done was pure class. I knew what was going to happen before I saw the show and yet I was so drawn in buy the climatic sequence that I found my self tense up as Doyle is hanging on - in the hope that he survives. The fact that Doyle was an unconventional hero with novice fighting stills and a mysterious but dubious back ground made him a strong character which should have been given more of a chance. I thought that there was solid built up with superb direction which really helps to draw the viewer in and there is still room for the humour especially Cordy's 'Dark Avenger' advert idea. Doyle advert is simply a droll the first time you see it but when it is rewatched by Angel and Cordelia it becomes very poignant. Which sums up the episode nicely.

I write this review in regards to the episode called "Hero". The whole show was as breath-taking as ever with its many suprises but when Doyle gave his life that was to unpredictable. I totally disagree. Sure the new guy who was Buffys old watcher is great but Doyle was no comparison. I really think some how someway Doyal should come back so as my review I was disappointed in this episode yet still Everything else was right and the preformance by David (Angel) was fantastic!

The only bad thing about this episode is the lost of the lovable character Doyle(Glenn Quinn). The good points of this episode is that Doyle showed incredible depth in his acting. The flashbacks of Doyles life, his conversation with the kid, his constant bickering with Cordy, and the true friendship he developed with Angel, oh I forgot to mention the excellent use of music during Doyle's scene with the dead demons. Angel was thought to be the hero but in the end it was Doyle. He realized hi strenght and he went for it. Too bad we'll never know if Doyle and Cordy would have ever become couple that might have surpassed that of Angel's and Buffy. Then again, Buffy and Angel's is the most tragic of them all.

This was, I think, the most upsetting and depressing episode they've had so far. It was sad, but one of the best because it can affect so many people because of Doyle's death. His death wasn't a good thing, but the episode was very well done. It showed how brave that character really was and unfortuneately he had to die for it.

This episode was really good because of its twists in the plot and surprise. I loved seeing bits of Doyles past. But i really don't think Doyle should have died, that was very disapointing and I cried for like ever after that episode. It was soo wrong to kill off Doyle. I only have one message for you "BRING BACK DOYLE!" "BRING BACK DOYLE NOW!!!!!!!

I have been a huge fan of Angel since he first appeared on Buffy, in fact he's why I started watching it. So when Angel got a spin-off, I was ecstatic! But I was drawn even more to his sidekick, Doyle. I knew ahead of time he was going to die(and I was MAD), but I didn't realize how emotional his dying would be - it was the best episode they've aired. Everything flowed and it was the best acting they've had. The show has sucked since, because of Wesley, and I've stopped watching it. DBKD!!!!!
