After months of waiting in anticipation, the WB launched a very risky new TV show. First airing on March 10th 1997, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, made a very small impression. However, due to it's great comedy and relation to everyday teen life, the show is slowly becoming a hit.
Even though Buffy is at the bottom of the ratings scales, it is currently one of the WB's highest rated TV shows! It's fans range in age from kids to adults and critics love it. Rated as one of the 10 best new shows by TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly and almost every other magazine/newspaper out there. It receives rave reviews from hundreds of critics. It's competition is however large and difficult to compete with, but, the show has continued to grow as it's main character Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) has pursued a career in film as well.
She had roles in the summer blockbuster I Know What You Did Last Summer and a small role in Scream 2. Both giving the show a boost of popularity. Buffy The Vampire Slayer is not only very popular on TV, it is also tremendously popular on the Internet. There are thousands of web sites and fan groups associated with the show.
This story is about young woman named Buffy Summers. A girl who just wants to be normal for once in her life. Not only is she a teenager, but she's the chosen one. The one person of every generation that is born with the strength to fight the vampires, demons and forces of evil. She is the slayer. (Okay, so I used their main line. So what?)
After getting kicked out of her last school in LA for burning the gym down, (It was filled with vampires) she moved to Sunnydale California. Also known as the Mouth Of Hell. Buffy and her friends, Willow and Xander, combine together in friendship and slaying. Rupert Giles, is Buffy's Watcher. He is in charge of training her to be a slayer. Together they have fought off hundreds of vampires and demons.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an excellent form of entertainment as well as education. However farfetched from reality, each episode provides a great relationship to real teen life, once you get past the whole demon thing. Each episode shows a new problem to add to Buffy's many. Along with being the slayer she must live the life of a socially rejected girl, keep her slaying a secret from her mom, and fight vampires while she is in love with one. (A good one though.) This site was created to honor the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't know any of the actors or actresses that work on the show personally. I have talked to a few of them including Joss Whedon, the creator, and Jeff Pruitt the Stunt Coordinator over the Internet. I am not any of the actors/actresses/crew members that work with Buffy. I am just a fan.
I believe that the people that work on this show are wonderful people. They do an excellent job of creating a show that has made television a good thing again. This site was built with the intention of good. I use any pictures that are taken with out the consent of the maker. I feel that the actors/actresses/crew members' personal lives are their own and no one else has the right to know about them. I only provide information on this site that has to do with the actors and actresses professional work.
