A visit with a friend
Spike hesitated, he didn’t know why he was nervous—she was really the only one of the Scoobies who'd ever treated him like something more than a monster; had treated him like a man—so he was fairly sure she wouldn’t mind him visiting.
Steeling himself he stepped slowly forward, “’lo, love. ‘m sorry I haven’t been to see you sooner, been out of town for a bit. I brought you these.” he laid the flowers down, a beautiful spray of wildflowers that reminded him of her, free of spirit and beautiful in a natural, uncultivated way. “Miss you, pet.”
