Avowal
by Spikesdeb
It
was a simple piece of timber; it bore no markings, no remembrances, no name.
There was no body beneath it to mourn.
The golden blonde figure kneeling beside it mourned anyway - for the loss
of innocence, the loss of childhood belongings, the loss of her mother's final
resting place. All lay buried
beneath the rubble of the hellmouth.
Eyes
clouded by unshed tears, she stroked the marker and said her goodbyes. In her
mind she saw the joined hands, the flames, intense blue eyes.
"I
did" she murmured. "I do.
I always will."
The tears fell finally. For him.
