At Angel's hotel, Fred comes out of her room for a brief second while Cordelia, Gunn, and Wesley are coming back from dealing with a demon. They talk about this demon, and the fact that Angel is away, dealing with the death of Buffy. They also talk about how Fred is not making strides toward being social again. Meanwhile, Angel is in Sri Lanka not meditating but fighting demon monks.

PtI

Cordy, Wess, and Gunn are in the hotel, and setting up traps for the mice. Then Angel comes in, bearing gifts. Everyone is happy, and Angel tells them how the monks were all demons and he should have gone to Vegas.

Angel goes up to Fred's room to convince her that she is safe, and to try to come out of her room. Then, Cordy screams. The guys run to her. She is having vision of vampires attacking kids in a dorm room. Angel makes sure she is ok before they go after the vampires. Cordy lays on the floor and starts crying.

They arrive at the Hall where some victims are dead, and others are still alive. Angel vamps out and jumps out the window, following the vampires that have taken hostages. Wess calls an ambulance.

In the car, the boy is begging for the head girl vampire not to kill his girlfriend. He surrenders her after the vampire says she will let him go, and kill her. Angel catches up to them, and starts fighting. Wess and Gunn are close behind. Near the end, right after Angel stakes the head girl vampire she says Angelus? He is holding her locket in her hand.

PtII

Cordy is in her apartment and still experiencing after- effects of her worsening visions. As she is in the bathroom, Dennis dims the lights, starts bath for her, hangs up her blouse, and washes her back while she is in the bathtub. She doesn't know what she would do without a ghost like him.

There is a flashback of Angel to his Angelus years. He is with Darla, and another couple who have true love. They are all discussing Holtz, the vampire hunter. James steals a locket for his girl. Holtz appears, with his army. The women go to the ship and wait to wait for them.

Back at the hotel, Angel stops telling his story. Gunn, Wess, and Cordy were listening. He is looking at Elizabeth's locket. They realize that if James finds out Angel killed Elizabeth, who was his true love, he will be coming after them. They decide to start looking for James.

Meanwhile in another part of town, a vampire is telling James of the struggle and how Angel killed Elizabeth. James says he wants to die, and pushes the vampire into sunlight. He catches on fire.

Back at the hotel, Cordy is trying to talk to Angel about Buffy's death. He isn't responding, so she demands he finishes the story.

Back to Holtz, he and his troops have surrounded James and Angel. Holtz is looking for Darla. Angel goes into detail about how much fun he had with his wife. Angel says he will give both the women up. Then Angel and James start fighting amongst each other. They hop on a horse and ride away. James says he will tell Darla about his betrayal.

Back in LA, James walks into a clinic that has a doctor removing a blob thing from his head. James is asking for the cure. The doctor informs him it is a pricey surgery. James consents.

Pt III

Lorne is singing in the club. Gunn and Wess are finding out information about James from their stoolie, Merle. Merle tells them James knows that Angel killed Elizabeth, and is in town. Gunn calls to warn Angel. Angel is in the hotel with Cordy and telling her to go home. She refuses, and starts rambling. As he opens the door to the basement, here comes James. They start struggling. Cordy runs. James thinks Angel killed Elizabeth because he had something Angel could never have.

Then Fred comes out of her room, finally. Angel tells her to go back and stay there. At the club, Merle is still talking to Wess and Gun. He is telling them how James went to a special doctor who is a collector. They try calling Angel again.

Cordy is trying to help Angel fight. Angel ends up staking James, only to see him pull the stake out, and the hole heal up.

Pt IV

They are still trying to fight James and hightail it into the sewers. James is invincible. Cordy gets call on her cell phone while they are hiding. She is told by Wess that James had his heart removed and that the effect is only temporary, that it will last for six….then he will die. Her phone cuts out. James finds them, and they run into the subway and jump onto a train. James follows them, and jumps onto the roof.

James confronts Angel. James is amazed that Angel could care for anyone as much as he cares for himself. Angel has pushed Cordy back, out of harms way. James remembers Angel as being heartless and selfish, and is unaware about the curse and the soul Angel bears now. James threatens to kill Cordy, who he thinks is the woman Angel loves. Angel tells him that the woman he loves is dead. James still threatens to kill both of them. Angel defeats him. James tells him that he lived, while Angel just existed. Then James turns to dust.

Back at the hotel, Angel smoothed over things with Fred. Cordy starts talking to Angel again. Angel says he is okay, and that losing Buffy didn't kill him. He is feeling guilty. Cordy tells Angel that he is honoring her. Wess comes in talking about nester demons, and off the gang goes.

And oh, what's this? Off in Nicaragua, a man walks into a bar, giving info to Darla about a Shaman. She ends up feeding on him, and walking away PREGNANT !!!
