Rome 1771 Angelus is running through the sewers, and gets cut off by men in robes with torches. He falls through into a dark underground where Holtz appears. Angelus has been captured for him, so he can punish him for feeding on his family. He takes a big hook to Angelus' neck, and begins torturing him. Darla comes to the rescue with a vampire crew. A fight ensues, and Darla and Angelus escape on a carriage covered by a blanket to save them from sunlight. Darla comments that Holtz is like family now, so they shouldn't kill him. In the present day, Darla arrives to LA on a bus that she has killed several people on.

PtI

Angel walks into the basement and is putting flowers up for him. They box, and Cordy nails him good. Wess and Gunn are trying to get their hands on a Niazian scroll. They have broken into a house and come into a room with odd items, a rare form of collectibles, i. e. a head in a glass jar. The man of the house comes in and points a gun at them. They convince him to put the gun down. Fred walks into the basement to see Angel training Cordy. Cordy goes upstairs and Fred talks about how Cordy and Angel are heroes, and comments how they are drawn together. Angel tells her to stop with that kind of talk. Wess walks in and asks for Fred's help with deciphering the scroll.

Angel is walking up to Cordy. Fred is ranting mathematics. Wess says the prophecy predicts the Troklan that is a person or being destined to bring about the ruination of mankind. Wess is talking about the meaning of the words within the prophecy, and brings up the time he deciphered the scroll wrong. He told Angel that he was destined to die, and in actuality Angel was destined to live, to become human. Fred concludes the "bad thing" should already be in LA. Angel is watching Cordy, and creeping her out. Cordy assumes he is trying to tell her that he loves her, and she says she loves him, and the gang joins in. Then in walks Darla.

PtII

The gang greets Darla, a bit awkwardly. Fred is asking Gunn who she is and Gunn tells her that he can look it up in the charts. Darla walks up to Angel and punches him. Cordy sits Darla down, and asks Angel if he lied to her. Angel is trying to defend himself about his state of mind when he slept with Darla, but Cordy is not having any of it. Darla's pregnancy is impossible, and Darla tells them that none of the shamans knows what's inside of her. Wess decides they should talk to the host. At Karatoss, the three sisters are recasting the sanctuary spell. Lorne is getting repairs done. The gang comes in.

Lorne tells everyone to go home. The gang has a group discussion. Cordy takes Darla into his room so she can lay down. Cordy starts sympathizing with Darla about her pregnancy and remarks how she must be starving. Outside, the gang continues their discussion about Darla and what this child means. Angel asks Lorne how "she" is doing. Lorne assumes he is talking about Darla, then realizes he is talking about Cordy. He tells her Cordy is upset and hurt. Cordy is talking to Darla when she realizes Darla might be hungry. Cordy gets up and tries to leave, but Darla stops her. Darla starts feeding on Cordy.

PtIII

Darla takes a break and then goes after Cordy again. Cordy is having visions of little children. Angel breaks in ands throws Darla off of Cordy, and carries her to the bed. Darla has run off. Angel carries Cordy out and tells the gang to help. The gang tried to stop Darla, but she plowed through them without even breaking a sweat. At the hotel, Cordy is in bed. Gunn is keeping watch. Cordy tells Angel about her vision, and tells him where she is headed. Wess tries to talk him out of going after Darla alone, but Angel goes. At a amusement place for children, Darla is lying in wait and finds a lost kid that she will take to find his mom.

PtIV

Cordy has what she thinks is a dream, but it was more like a vision. She thinks it was about what is inside of Darla, and why she is craving younger victims. Meanwhile, Darla is still with the child and Angel grabs her before she attacks. The kid runs off and finds his mommy. Everyone sees the vampires and run off. Darla and Angel fight, and he is about to stake her but can't. He realizes that his child has a soul because it is craving pure blood. Angel also knows that the baby has a heartbeat. Angel takes Darla back to the hotel and lays her down. Gunn is keeping watch on her now. He goes downstaris and warns the girls to stay away from her. Angel knows that even though his child has a soul, it still can bring about the ruination of mankind. Fred runs in and says she was off on her earlier calculations for the scroll, and says whatever is arriving is arriving..3..2..1..now.

Below the city, there is a temple with a statue in the middle of it. A demon walks up to it and calls something forth from the statue. He stops to smoke, and then the statue comes to life. It is Holtz, Angel's enemy.
