After shopping for the newborn baby, the crew comes back to the hotel to find the cages and medical equipment left behind by Wolfram and Hart. Lorne shows up with suitcase in hand to stay since his bar was destroyed, and Angel refuses to let anyone hold the baby. Wess and Gunn quickly dispose of an attacker, and Cordy realizes they are still in danger. Angel is concerned about his son because he is crying and he is attempting to change his diaper.

PtI

Angel is changing his son's diaper on Wess' desk, which Wess is not too happy about. Angel declines Wess' assistance, and his son continues to cry. The crew is working on a long list of enemies that are interested in taking the miracle child. Angel tries to pacify his son with a bottle, but no go. In other parts of LA, Sajan is extremely upset at Holtz for not taking Angel out and Holtz is upset because Sajan did not tell him about Darla's pregnancy. Holtz wants real warriors that will die for his cause, not fight for the highest bidder so he poisoned the demons, and his army dies. Holtz wants to search for dedicated followers through the Internet by searching the obituaries.

Back at the hotel, the crew is trying to be thorough with their list. The gang finds out that three sites are offering money for the child. Angel tries to quiet his son with teddy bear. There is a light blue flash throughout the hotel, which is a forcefield that is being put up. There is also a mystical door downstairs that opens with a password. They know that their enemies are coming for the baby. The baby also needs his baby shots. Lorne's extra sensitive psychic radar hears a hum, but ignores it. Gunn goes off to find some extra firepower, since their arsenal isn't quite big enough. Fred cannot trace the email of the sites and this leaves Angel frustrated.

At Wolfram and Hart, Lila, Gavin and Linwood finally solve the riddle of the Niazerin scroll, and it had prophesized Darla's death. Gavin has teams practicing to take the baby, and they are looking for info on who they don't know is Holtz yet. Linwood continues to admire the baby via the surveillance screen.

In Angel's bedroom, he is singing to his son and yet the baby still cries. The only thing that stops him is Angel's vamp face. At the office, Lila is still researching their mystery guest.

PtII

In a Los Angeles back alley, Holtz follows an attractive red whom he found in an obituary listing. Her name is Justine Cooper. The woman defends herself against Holtz, but he knows that she's grieving for her twin sister that died mysteriously with major blood loss and two small wounds in her neck. He wants to help her but she refuses him.

Back at the hotel, Fred is still trying to trace the emails. Since Angel was up with his son all night, and refuses to let anyone help, Cordy performs a test that involves sunlight to prove he needs their help. Lorne slips a piece of paper into Angel's pocket. Gunn brings the extra firepower and informs them that a biker gang, the Lilliad demons that can break the force field with their powerful magic, are waiting outside.

At the office, Lila has been searching for the past fourteen hours for the mysterious man. She learns that this is Holtz, with some help from a research girl. Wolfram and Hart are using cybergenics, and this girl can process information with a digital-eye reflex amazingly fast. She tells Lila the gruesome history of Holtz. Lila is impressed by the story. Holtz follows and watches Justine as she battles a vampire. He ends up saving her and asks for her help in fighting a vampire. She accepts. At the hotel, the demons begin to break the spell. Angel takes off with his son through the door and the crew feels abandoned.

PtIII

At Wolfram & Hart. Linwood and Gavin watch Angel leave. They prepare to capture his son. Angel sneaks beneath the sewers as the demons manage to break the force field. The crew prepares to fight while Angel gets to his car.

In the hotel, demons and vampires demand for the location of the child as Wess aims a fire-thrower at them. They are toast, along with another vampire who runs in. Outside, every demonic thing has seen Angel and follow him. The hotel is cleared out.

Angel drives out of LA and his followers are close on his heels. He gets to an abandoned site. He jumps out of the car and into mind shaft but quickly finds himself trapped deep inside and most of demons are joined by Wolfram and Hart team.

Pt IV

The demons want the baby and Angel tricks them by throwing the white bundle into the air. He ends up out of the mine shaft and makes a clean escape. The white bundle is a bomb. At the hospital, Cordy and the gang take the baby in for a check up.

At Wolfram & Hart, Linwood shows Lila and Gavin the piece of paper that Lorne passed to Angel in the hotel. This tells him of the surveillance. They're amazed by Lorne's psychic ability to hear the transmission frequency of their equipment. Holtz was not among the demons that attacked Angel and Lila tells them his story. An alarm goes off and Angel barges into the room and knifes Linwood across his cheek. Angel threatens Linwood, and commits him to paying for his son's college at Notre Damme.

Back at the hospital, the doctor reports the baby is in great health but the baby has no name. Angel enters and names him Connor. The doctor gives Angel his son, and Angel puts him in a stroller. They are safe for now, so they head for home. Angel pushes the stroller, while his beloved family follows ready for anything that comes their way.
