Angel walks in with a big grin on his face as he flashes tickets! Outside, Gunn and Fred return from lunch (where Gunn compliments her on her beauty) and then they walk in to find Angel standing with the tickets! Gunn gets excited, thinking they're for the group Mata Hari but Angel says they're better: they're for the performance of Giselle, one night only, by a famous ballet company. Reactions range from interest (Wesley) to dissapointment (Gunn). Meanwhile, the theater's owner thanks the ballet's director for coming. "It will be the performance of a lifetime I guarentee it"
Opening Credits: Nothing new.
Cordy and Fred go clothes shopping for the ballet. Fred wants to ask something, but Cordy cuts her off, saying "you'll be perfect for each other." Fred's talking about Gunn, but Cordy thinks she's talking about Wesley! The clarification is never made
Lorne helps Angel on with his tux as the two also discuss "dating." Lorne read Angel's aura while he was singing a lullaby to Connor. He says that Angel and Cordy are a destined match, the "meeting of heroes." Angel goes through all of the classic doubt, just as Cordelia enters, looking stunning in a long dress!
Gunn is embarrassed be seen in his Tux in front of Fred, but the chemistry is there as both look quite handsome in their going to ballet. Wesley joins, hinting at his interest in Fred also, but the tension between Fred and Gunn is greater. In walks Cordy and Angel, and the five are off to the ballet!
The five enter the theater and sit in the upper balcony as the show begins. The mysterious ballet director watches from the balcony, smitten with the lead dancer. While Cordelia falls asleep, Angel looks on, a puzzled look on his face. During the overture break, the 5 meet in the lobby as Angel says that not only is the ballet the same as he saw 100 years ago, but also the very same dancers!
Commercial break: Tuxes R' Us, when you want to look far better than you ever could, or should.
The fang gang discusses options. Angel and Cordy go off to snoop. Knocking out the security guard, the two enter backstage and enter some type of dimentional weirdness. The hallways seem to stretch on forever! The ballet continues in the background as Cordy gets lost in a dressing table's mirror. She turns to Angel, hypnotized, and starts to talk strangely, as if she can feel the passion of another. Angel becomes smitten, too, and the two act out some sort of secret passion play. The two gaze upon each other and kiss!
Commercial break: Looking for smelly, uncomfortable, cheap rides? GO GREYHOUND!
The ballet continues as Cordy and Angel continue their lust-play. Aware of what they're doing, but unable to control it, the two slowly make their way to the door and finally exit the dressing room, regaining control! The room is possessed by spirits who temporarily possessed Cordy and Angel!
Lorne puts Connor down for bed as he complains about not being invited to the ballet. He hears a noise, goes to investigate, opens the hallway door, and is startled by ?
Cordy remembers saying something important while they were possessed in the dressing room. Angel recalls too, something about forbidden lovers and having to hide their love from someone. They don't want to, because of the "lust", but they have to to figure out what's going on.
Watching the ballet, both Wes and Gunn's hands creep over onto Fred's legs just as she notices that Angel and Cordy have been gone a while. The three go to investigate.
Cordy and Angel start to re-enact the lover's passions as Wes, Gunn, and Fred discover the unconscious security guard backstage. Two "laughing" figures witness the tresspassers and report back to the ballet director.
Angel and Cordy are necking and more! They talk as two lovers wanting to escape away from the ballet director, someone whosimply lusts after the female ballerina. Cordy is now half undressed as he kisses her stomach, her The two are "interrupted" by the two laughing figures demons with weird, "joker" like faces. They attack, but Angel quickly fights them off.
Out in the hall, Wesley, Fred, and Gunn all hear the struggle nearby and start to head towards it as Gunn is stabbed from behind by another laughing demon!
Commercial break: Windex makes it SHINE!
Gunn falls to the ground, unconscious as Fred takes the laughing demon that attacked Gunn, beating him down with her purse. Wesley gets into a swordfight with yet another laughing demon.
Fred cares for Gunn's wound and the two have a "moment." She obviously cares for him and was scared that she'd lose him. And the two kiss as Wesley looks on, crushed.
Angel and Cordy join Fred and Gunn, telling what happened, as Wesley comes back from having a possession of his own in the hall. Wesley tells the entire story, that the ballet director was insanely jealous of the two lovers, wanted the ballerina for himself, and "kidnapped" her into time, forcing her to always stay in his ballet-dimension, performing for him.
Just then, the laughing demons start to shake and multiply! The ballet director uses his power to create more demons, but thevery theater seems to shift out of time also his power is being drained when he creates more demons! Angel takes off as the others prepare to do battle with endless laughing demons!
Angel finds the ballerina waiting in the wings and talks to her. He tells her that the only way to break free is to change the ending. She walks out on stage and performs a different scene, to which the director spots from his private box and is surprised! Angel leaps into the upper box and grabs the director, punching and shattering a large medallion that the director wears. It bursts with energy as the ballerina and everything "old" slowly fades. The demons fighting the others dissapear!
Back at the Hyperion, Wesley cleans Gunn's wound as Gunn and Fred look lovingly at each other. Angel and Cordy try to awkwardly talk about what they went through at the theater as Angel hints that maybe something could happen just as Cordy's face lights up! "GROO!" she shouts as she runs past Angel and into the arms of Groo, the warrior from Pylea!
Lorne comes up to Angel, saying that apparently Pylean politics became sketchy. Groo went searching for his true love and sought out Cordy!
