Angel and Buffy are kissing. They pull apart. Angel says he guess that qualifies as happy to see him. Buffy asks him what he's doing, tells him not to answer, she wants to bask. Then she says she's done basking, asks what he's doing there. He tells her he came to save a damsel in distress. He said he had the inside edge. He says its the first, it's raising an army, he's here to make sure it fails. Caleb gets up, blood streaming down her face, pushes past them, asks, "Are you ready to finish this?"

Buffy and Caleb fight, again. Buffy asks how many times she has to kill him. Caleb says she understands nothing. He holds her over his head, throws her. He tells her she thinks she has power over him. Buffy chops him in the stomach with the axe. Caleb dies again. Angel gets up, says he's pissed now. Asks what happened to Caleb, Buffy says he had to split. Angel presents Buffy with the amulet, she says she has nothing that goes with that. Angel says he doesn't quite know what it is, but he figures it has to be worn by someone stronger than her, a real strong champion. He advises her not to wear it. Spike leaves, unnoticed. Buffy tells Angel he needs to leave. Angel asks why. Buffy says she needs a second front in case she fails. Angel says that's one reason, he asks what's the other. She says there is no other. She walks out. Angel asks if it's Spike, he says he can smell Spike around. Buffy tells him the smelling thing is creepy. Angel asks Buffy if she's in love with Spike. Buffy tells him it's none of his business Spike's different, he has a soul. Angel starts acting jealous. Tricks Buffy into saying that Spike's her boyfriend. Then Buffy denies it. She tells him that Spike is in her heart. Buffy asks Angel what the highlight of their relationship was? Him dumping her or her killing him. Buffy says maybe the reason she's not so good at love is because she's not done turning into the person she's supposed to be. As a cookie, she's not done. She says maybe when she's done becoming a cookie, she'll be able to love someone, it'll be fine. Angel asks her if she has any thoughts on who that person will be. Buffy says she's not really thinking that far ahead. Angel gives Buffy the amulet, he tells her he'll go start working on the second front. As he leaves, Buffy stops him, she tells him she sometimes thinks that far ahead. She tells him if she did, it would be a long time coming, if ever. Angel tells her he ain't getting any older and leaves.

Buffy walks into her house, Dawn smacks her and calls her a dumbass. Buffy looks to Xander and Anya, Xander says he's staying out of it. Anya is stroking Xander's hair. Buffy tells them she killed Caleb, everyone's very happy.

Spike is downstairs punching the hell out of a punching bag. Spike asks where Angel went. Tells Buffy he saw them kissing. Buffy says it was just a hello, and he's gone now. Spike says Angel wears lifts you know. Buffy sees a picture of Angel stuck on the punching bag. She tells him one day she's just gonna put the two of them in a room and let them beat the crap out of each other. Then she says it could be fun, there could be oil involved. Spike asked if the amulet is for him, it needs to be worn by someone strong. Buffy says it needs to be worn by a champion. She hands the amulet to Spike. Spike says that's the best thing she ever called him. Buffy sort of hints that she wants to sleep with him, she says Dawn has her room. Spike says he can't be bought with shiny things and sweet talk, Buffy turns to go up the stairs, Spike stops her. He says he was bluffing, he doesn't know what he would have done if she would have gone up the stairs.

Buffy and Spike are laying in bed together. Buffy gets up, Caleb/FE appears to her. Admits that Caleb is dead. Tries to ridicule Buffy's army of children. FE says it will overtake the earth no matter what she does. Buffy says she's not afraid of him. The FE asks why she's not sleeping then. FE says no one has the power to stop her. FE morphs into Buffy. Repeats the lore about one slayer born into every generation, one girl alone who will fight against the darkness. The FE emphasizes that she alone will be fighting. Spike wakes up with a start. Asks Buffy why she's standing there. Buffy says she just realized something, she's going to win.

Buffy's standing in front of a mirror, she asks how she looks. They say this is an unconventional way to fight, but it might work. Willow says that's all fine and good, but she's the one who's taking all the risk, it's a total loss of control for her. Makes a comment about her girlfriend having a pierced tongue. Dawn reacts to the tongue comment in shock. The go downstairs. Buffy makes a speech to the SITs. None of them have the power her and Faith have, they have a choice whether they want to participate. Buffy says she's opening up the hellmouth and going in.

Wood and Faith are moving boxes. Wood says it's a risky plan. Faith tells him to have a little Faith. They start to bicker about their one night stand. Wood doesn't like Faith's attitude. He tells her there's a whole world out there she hasn't encountered yet. Faith says men can't handle her because she's too hot. Wood tells her he's prettier than her. He tells her she didn't exactly rock his world. Faith tells him she has mad skills. She starts to undress, tells him they're going to go again. Wood talks her into doing her pants back up, he tells her if they survive he's going to show her the world. They start moving a filing cabinet. Faith says there's no way he's prettier than her.

Willow is telling Kennedy how scared she is. Willow admits to Kennedy that Buffy isn't exactly the smartest person, she doesn't have total faith in her plan. Kennedy says she'll be there with her, she'll support her. They kiss. Willow says she needs to go over the plan again.

Giles, Xander, Andrew and one of the SITs are playing D&D. The SIT is winning. Giles is losing. None of them can sleep. The SIT asks what kind of person could sleep on a night like this. Xander says only the crazy ones. Camera pans to show Anya sleeping on the table. Xander rubs her head.

Buffy goes downstairs, Spike stands to meet her. Camera fades out.

Everyone goes to the high school. Wood says there's only one rule, if they move, kill them. They spread out. Willow goes to Wood's office. Wood tells everyone where to go. Buffy sends Xander with Dawn. Anya and Andrew are the only two left over. They say they're going down the hall to guard something. Xander tells Anya to not be afraid to use Andrew as a human shield. Andrew starts to make a speech about how he feels grateful to fight. Anya tells him no one cares, calls him a little monkey, they take off down the hall. Buffy tries to have words with Dawn, Dawn tells her not to say anything, it'll sound like a goodbye. The only people left standing are Willow, Xander, Buffy and Giles. Buffy asks what they want to do tomorrow. They talk about going to the mall. Giles says the earth is doomed as they all break off and walk in different directions.

Buffy, Faith, Spike and the SITs are fathered around the seal. They cut their hands, drip blood on the seal and open it. Buffy goes down into the hole that opens up, Faith follows.

Willow sits crosslegged on the floor, across from Kennedy. She says they should be in place. Asks Kennedy if she's ready to kill her. Kennedy tells her she can do it. Willow starts her spell.

Down under the seal, Spike, Buffy, Faith and the SITs wonder if Willow can do the spell. They approach the edge of a cliff, look down upon a whole army of ubervamps. Buffy says she's not worried, Willow will work her spell before they see her. Just as she says the words, the Ubervamps spot them.

Willow does her spell. The scythe glows. Flash to Buffy's speech to the SITs. Buffy tells them that Willow is more powerful than the people who decided there would be only one slayer. Willow is going to activate the scythe, to give all the SITs slayer power. Not just the SITs but every girl on the planet who could potentially be an SIT.

The power goes into all the girls. The Ubervamps attack, the new army of slayers fight them off.

Willow's hair turns white, then back to red. Kennedy tells her she's a goddess. Willow tells her to take the scythe to Buffy. Then she falls over sideways and says "That was nifty."

Buffy gets her scythe. They fight off the ubervamps. Some of the ubervamps escape.

Anya and Andrew are standing in the hall, afraid. Andrew tells her to picture somethign that makes her want to fight. Anywa pictures bunnies, suddenly grows braver.

Ubervamps emerge from the hellmouth. Wood and Xander fight them off.

Anya and Andrew muster some pretty impressive swordfighting, kill some ubies.

Down beneath, Spike is wearing the amulet, he looks like something's wrong with him. Buffy pauses to give orders, gets stabbed through by an ubie.

Buffy hits the ground, hands the scythe to Faith, tells her to hold the line. Faith looks stricken, but continues to fight.

Xander and dawn kill Ubies with sunlight.

Ubies kill SITs. The FE appears to Buffy in Buffy form. Makes fun of her mortal wound. She asks Buffy what she wants. Buffy tells her she wants her to get out of her face. Buffy gets up, starts killing ubervamps. Spike gets knocked backwards into a set of stairs. The amulet activates, light comes out of Spike upwards, punches a hole in the ceiling. Sun rains down on him. Buffy runs to him. Buffy asks him what's going on. Spike says it's his soul, he can feel it in place, it kind of stings. The ground starts to shake. Things collapsing all over. Everyone flees.

Xander screams for Anya. She's dead and bloody on the floor, the roof starts to collapse on him. He runs leaving her there.

Faith yells for Buffy to move as Buffy lingers with Spike. Spike tells her to leave, it's up to him to clean it all up now. She takes his hand, their hands erupt in flames. He tells her to go. She tells him she loves him. He tells her she doesn't, but thanks for saying it. He tells her to leave, he's going to stay, he wants to see how it ends. Buffy lets go, starts to run out of the building as it collapses.

Spike laughs, he burns.

Everyone else flees on a school bus. The healthy are patching up the injured. Andrew asks why didn't he die.

Buffy jumps off the school roof. Lands on the bus. The bus speeds away as Sunnydale collapses into the Hellmouth. The bust stops on the outskirts of Sunnydale. They all get off the bus. Dawn hugs Buffy. Giles asks what happened. Buffy says Spike saved them all. They look to the hole in the ground, the Welcome to Sunnydale sign falls in the hole. Xander and Andrew get off the bus. Xander asks what happened, did he see her. Andrew at first balks at the question, and then finally says that Anya was incredible, she died saving him. Xander almost sheds a tear as he says "That's my girl. Always doing the stupid thing."

On the bus, Wood appears to be dead. Faith looks startled. Then Wood suddenly gasps. Faith looks relieved, she gets off the bus.

They all stand at the edge of the hole that was Sunnydale. Willow says she can feel them. All the slayers all over the world, they've changed the world. They talk about the Starbucks and the mall. They ask Buffy what she's going to do now that she's not the only chosen one. Dawn asks "Yeah what are we gonna do?" Buffy smiles. Fade to black.
