Lisa attended the Cleveland Convention where Nick Brendon openly spoke to her about the fact that he is currently in rehab for alcoholism. Because the staff at Buffy-vs-Angel respect Nick so much, we chose not to make it public and put it on our News section. However, Nick's official website has now run the story:

**STARTS**

Actor Nicholas Brendon, best known for portraying Xander on the hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, announced today that he has voluntarily entered an alcohol treatment center.

“After realizing that I had a disease that was taking control of my life, I decided that the best way for me to regain my health was to enter a treatment facility,” Brendon said. “I’m grateful for the love and support I’ve gotten from my wife, Tressa, my entire family, my business associates and my friends."

“Over the past eight years I’ve discovered that Buffy fans are the most caring and supportive fans in the world,” Brendon continued. “Knowing that they will be behind me, rooting for me as I go through this process, makes everything that much easier. I’m looking forward to leading a happy, sober life.”

In addition to his seven seasons on Buffy, Brendon has appeared in the feature film Psycho Beach Party, and most recently starred in the ABC Family Channel movie Celeste in the City.

Brendon has served as the honorary chairperson of the Stuttering Foundation of America's Stuttering Awareness Week for an unprecedented three straight years, from 2001-2003.

**ENDS**

I have put this on our news section and left the following message on there:

All the staff at Buffy-vs-Angel.com would like to take this opportunity to send our love and support out to Nick and we wish him all the very best. Take care Nicky, darling.

I usually put out well wishes from the staff and readers on our news section but I'd love for you all to leave messages of support and love for Nick. I have to say that my heart broke when I heard this news.

Please leave your best wishes here and I will ensure that they get to Nick via the wonderful team at his website who I have been in touch with.

Nicky,

Thanks for the fantastic presentation and attendance at the Cleveland Slayer's Convention.  You are very brave for putting your disease out in the public eye.  I applaud and commend you for such dignity.

The staff and fans would love to wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.  Thank you for your commitment.
:)

Nick,

It takes alot of guts to put something like that in public and I commend it. Having went to rehab myself, I too know what its like when you want to do something about it, but have to put it out to love ones and all your friends that enjoyed your work over the past years. Thanks for everything and best of luck to you.

Nick,

Your amazing talent at being an overall great human being shows that you have lots left to do.  I'm glad that you've taken this step, shows really how much you care about your fans, family, and yourself.

Wishing you the best.  :)

Nick,

Admitting to the problem is the first step.Rehab is the second. It'll be hard for both you and your loved ones.I know this from having similar problems in my own family.Make it stick the first time so you never have to be in this spot again.Your fans wanna see some more of you. You're an amazingly talented actor and it is to early in your career for us to never see you in hollywood again.

Nick,

Seeing that you have a problem and want to help yourself is something alot of people can't do.  Your a brave man to come forward and to be so open.  In time things will heal.
Good luck man!

You people are wonderful. I don't know what has broken my heart more - learning of the news or reading your messages. You have all obviously put a lot of thought into them. :)

I have heard back from the staff at Nick's official website and they are thrilled by our efforts. It has been decided that I will put all your messages onto a word document and send them over to the staff via email where they will then forward them on to Nick to read. Rather than tagging your member names to the messages, I thought it would be nice to include some personal information like your name, town/city, country, age and anything else you like! This is strictly optional so to those of you who have left messages already or will do in the future, please feel free to PM me with any information you would like to be included. I just think it makes the messages a little more personal. In the interest of security, I urge you all not to leave such information on this thread. Any information you pass to me will be strictly confidential and will only be included in the word document and not passed on to any further parties other than the staff at nickbrendon.com.

Thank you all. :)
