The list of nominees for the 30th Saturn Awards were announced with Angel receiving a total of five nominations including Best Network TV Series and Best Actor in a TV Series. In the Best Supporting Actress category, Charisma Carpenter and Amy Acker go head-to-head, both being nominated for their roles in the show.
Not to be outdone by it's sister show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is pitted against Angel in the Best Network TV Series. Also up for a gong is Sarah Michelle Gellar in the Best TV Actress category as well as James Marsters for his role as Spike who is up against Alexis Denisof for his performance as Wesley in Angel for the Best Supporting Actor award.
Also receiving a nomination in the Best TV Actress category for her brilliant portrayal of Tru in the new hit show Tru Calling is ex-Buffy star, Eliza Dushku. Joss Whedon's series Firefly is up for Best DVD TV Release.
The winners will be announced on May 5th.
