After enduring an intense six months training programme where he clocked up nearly 500 miles, Danny Strong finished the 26.2 mile New Orleans Marathon in just over the six hours.
Strong ran in order to raise money for the charity, AIDS Project Los Angeles. He said, "[The money] will allow AIDS Project Los Angeles to continue to provide vital services such as prevention education, food banks, transportation, home health care and other important AIDS services - to help keep people alive until there's a cure."
The charity is one that Strong feels very passionate about. He went on to say, "The AIDS epidemic is far from over. More than one million Americans, and 40 million others around the world, are now living with HIV. And Los Angeles has the second highest number of people living with AIDS in the nation."
It is not known exactly how much Strong raised but it is thought to be over the $5,000 mark.
