Warner Bros. Records is proud to announce the release of SCOOBY-DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED -- THE ALBUM, to coincide with Warner Bros. Pictures' film SCOOBY-DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED (in theaters March 26), one of the year's most anticipated family blockbusters. This soundtrack is a powerful and upbeat mix of great pop songs that span the 70's, 80's and 90's. Most importantly, the album contains five brand new recordings from some of today's exciting new artists: Simple Plan, Ruben Studdard, Big Brovaz, Bowling For Soup and Puffy Ami Yumi. Each of these new tracks will be exclusive to this release.
Certified platinum punk-pop stars Simple Plan also contributed a track to the first SCOOBY-DOO soundtrack ("Grow Up") and return the favor once again with "Don't Wanna Think About You." The song is already impacting Top 40 radio with support from over 50 stations across the country, while the video track is enjoying Top Ten spins on TRL for the last three consecutive weeks. American Idol Ruben Studdard, hot on the heels of his own platinum debut, contributes an infectious & funky version of Earth Wind and Fire's "Shining Star." Big Brovaz may be new to American audiences but in their native UK, they are one of the premier breakout artists of 2003. Their debut album scored no less than four back-to-back Top Ten singles. Here, they have created their own unique hip-pop version of Sly Stone's "Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Again)." Other tracks on the soundtrack include classic hits from New Radicals, Fatboy Slim, The B-52's, Harvey Danger, Bad Manners, Wild Cherry and many others.
The album will be available as an enhanced CD which features a link to the Simple Plan video, plus exclusive behind the scenes making of the video footage. SCOOBY-DOO 2 -- THE ALBUM will also be available as a digital music download through the WEA Retail Affiliate Program.
Based on the classic characters created by Hanna-Barbera Productions, SCOOBY-DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED is directed by Raja Gosnell and stars Freddie Prinze, Jr., Sarah Michelle Geller, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, Seth Green, Peter Boyle, Tim Blake Nelson and Alicia Silverstone. The film will premiere Saturday March 20, 2004 at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Ca.
