The honchos over at the WB have been remarkably unfazed by fan efforts to save Angel, but the latest rumor to emerge has the network busy at work on a series of two-hour Angel TV flicks.
According to a story on Mediasharx, the current (final) season will not wrap up the story, but instead conclude with a cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the first tv movie, which is supposedly set to air in September.
The movies will also reportedly feature Eliza Dushku's Faith character, as "her series Tru Calling isn't going to be picked up for a second season". Hmm. It's certainly on the bubble, but no definitive announcement has been made on that front yet.
Joss Whedon is said not to be involved as he will be putting all his energy into Serenity, the big screen version of Firefly.
Is it all true? Well, according to Mediasharx this insider source has proved accurate in the past, but it seems strange that the network would be willing to pony up for two-hour movies, but not for the series.
Only time will tell...
