Girls that bite....
Buffy may have left our TV screens but the show isn't set to leave our book shelves any time soon. We look at three books that are all a must-have on any Buffy fan's list.

Girls Who Bite Back: Witches, Mutants, Slayers and Freaks is brought to you from Hugo award winner Emily Pohl-Weary. The book looks deep into the women portrayed in movies and television, including Buffy Summers, all of whom are todays latest role models.

Girls Who Bite Back contains essays, artwork and fictional stories a long with a do-it-yourself guide to being a superhero. Not only does this book look at the history of girl power, it also takes a peek at the future of girls biting back.

Dusted: The Unauthorised Guide to Buffy The Vampire Slayer has been out in the US since last November but is growing in popularity. It may be unauthorised and contain the odd typo, but the book goes so deep into every episode that these things are easy to overlook. It's very analytical and yet not too heavy to read.

Dusted not only covers all 144 episodes but it also has a music guide, detailed coverage on the comic book series, behind-the-scenes information, character development and a rolling Slayer kill-count.

If you're a fan of Dark Willow then you'll love the first book in a planned trilogy from Yvonne Navarro. The Darkening follows Willow's walk on the dark side as she seeks revenge for the murder of her girlfriend, Tara. There are a couple of surprises in the book, including a guest appearance.
