Amy Acker was delighted with her Best Supporting Actress (Television) Saturn Award, but there was also a touch of sadness that the show which catapulted her to fame was now over. Acker said, "It’s the last day of celebration for what we’ve done."
Despite the upset, Acker still managed to sport her trademark smile for the entire evening.
Joss Whedon personally accepted his two awards for his now cancelled shows Firefly and Angel. He was joined on stage to accept the Best DVD award by partner-in-crime Tim Minear who is currently being called "Tim Reaper." Sadly, Tim's shows have been unjustly axed - Firefly, Wonderfalls and Angel. Obviously, Minear's supposed curse does not bother Whedon as the pair go to work next month on the Firefly movie Serenity, which is due for release in 2005.
